  • Brings your record collection to life
Hard to find fault with anything here. Setup was about 5 minutes. I just plugged the tubes in, swapped the cables from my cheap old receiver and had rich, dynamic music. Controls, overall tone, remote, and bluetooth are all fantastic. An eq will round it out nicely, but its great as is. The clarity and (yes) punch at even low to mid volume is impressive. Analogue synths and strings sound amazing. I can’t believe the price to value ratio here. If you’re on the fence, just kick the fence over and snag one of these for a great entry level tube amp. ... show more

  • I loved it, for the few weeks it worked. (Updated)
Edit: Changing from 2 to 5 stars. It was the ac adapter that died, not the unit. I bought this to redo my PC sound setup for music production and also incorporate my tv into the mix with the optical in. Everything went as planned. It sounds great, but I'm coming from a smsl setup so it didn't blow me away or anything. But for the price and additional inputs and the cool aesthetics I was super happy. The remote being a huge huge plus. After a few weeks I watch some YouTube videos after waking up. Everything is great. Go to Hogwarts for a bit. Great. I leave for the day and when I come home it just won't turn on. Nada. Completely dead. I don't smell any magic smoke. Luckily I'm within my return time with Amazon so I don't have to deal with the manufacturer. I'll update this review when my new unit arrives tomorrow. The only thing that I don't like about this amp is what everyone else complains about. It'll go into standby if there is no sound for several seconds. I can deal with that. I don't see what everyone else is talking about with db scale not doing anything. It doesn't on low volume but it does when you turn it up. That's understandable to me. More importantly to me is that the volume goes up and down in notches. So the very lowest volume is still louder than I would like watching stuff at night when I fall asleep. That may just be the way optical comes out of my tv, I'm not sure yet. For the price, aesthetics and integrated DAC, I'm not sure it can be beat. ... show more

  • Nice and compact - decent sound
Disclaimer: I'm not an audiophile. I've had a set of speakers that have been sitting around for a number of years without being used. I saw how small this amp is compared to the one that I had, and thought I'd give it a try (plus the good reviews I've seen). I was not disappointed. Although my speakers are not high quality, this setup definitely improved my music listening experience, over the setup I previously had. TBH, I'm not sure if the tubes are being used in the actual amplification or not, or just used as gimmicks. Regardless, I think for the money, the space saving, the decent sound that it produces, this is a worthy purchase. The clicking issue that people eluded to does not bother me that much. I bought the "plus" version hoping that the issue is fixed, but that's not the case. My subwoofer also makes a clicking sound when there's no sound streaming into it after a few moments; now I have two clicking devices. I guess they belong to each other. So take that issue into consideration when you make a decision this purchase. For me, this was a good purchase and a keeper. ... show more

  • Great little amp if it fits your needs
I'm going to a say a few things first based on other reviews. I hear no noise from the amp when not playing music as some have said. It's NOT hard to operate the source selector on the unit itself if you READ the instructions. Finally, I don't know what the long term reliability of the amp or power supply will be, but........... For such a small amp, it can drive a set of bookshelf speakers in my basement to a "that's loud enough" level. And that's saying a lot because I used to be Mr. CrankItUp. If you want something that will fit in a small space and packs a punch, this is a nice unit. Is it equivalent to a $1000 receiver? No. Will it be a massive upgrade for someone that has been listening to music on their earbuds or wants to get into hifi? Yes. One final note. I was going to use this amp with my TV as the source But.......... there are no remote codes to make it work with the Comcast remote so I'm stuck with two remotes. But that was my fault for not checking the Comcast remote code database before ordering. ... show more

  • Hard to believe the sound quality for such a small package
If you're looking for a physically small amp to pair to your phone's playlist and a bookshelf speakers this is a great option. Has multiple input options and plenty of power such as a much larger amp would provide to drive your typical home speaker system. Super happy with the sound, the size and the capability, and even the price! ... show more

  • Warm, Crystal clear sound. LOUD.
This is an incredible little amp, and I just can't get over how much I enjoy listening to music and video games through it. Warm, clear sound that especially shines when coupled with a separate powered sub.

  • Fully Connected
This tiny unit is comprised of a tube preamp section to warm up the Class-D power amp section that has about 45wpc (not 100w) into 8ohms, banana plug speaker outs & very little self-noise. Inputs include Bluetooth, L/R RCA's, Optical, SPDIF rca, USB & a 3.5mm Line Out which can be used for a powered sub. ... show more

  • It's OK
The DAC is decent and I also appreciate the connection options on this device. BT, optical, coaxial, tone controls, and a remote control. It sounds decent but I could not stop the persistent popping and scratching noise from the speakers.
