I own a Fluance RT85 turntable, which I absolutely love. There was just one problem, a persistent hum coming from my Klipsch 'The Sixes' active speakers. The speakers have a built-in amp, as well as phono preamp so I should have had everything to deliver great sound from my setup. I even upgraded all cabling to Morrow cables however could not get rid of the darn hum. I decided to purchase a separate preamp and Wow! I am glad I did. Upon connecting my turntable to this preamp, the hum immediately disappeared. Now, the speakers are dead silent when the turntable is on with nothing playing. I also noticed an improvement in the sound quality. My music sounds more crisp and clear. This preamp is highly recommended, and not just for Fluance turntables. It delivered on all its promises.     • Setup is easy
Once I got the cables, setup was easy. I have a Fluance RT 85N going to the Fluance PA10, and then to my Sonos ERA 100. Now I can hear my records throughout my house across all my Sonos Speakers. This is a new setup so my equipment has not broken in yet. So I expect my sounds will get warmer as time goes by. ... show more

Exactly what I needed for my vintage Technics turntable! I was considering spending money on a new receiver due to the fact my Sony did not have a phono input.     • Defunct grounding circuit
The media could not be loaded. The grounding feature to reduce signal hum is a definite plus to me ordering. Directly after unpackaging, the poorly designed ground system was discovered as the entire stud and associated hardware simply spins. You would think for the dollar value of the product, either a press-fit or welded stud to the internal aluminum chassis would be warranted. Sadly, you only achieve an intermittent connection as a result. So there's no need to attaching this ground to anything, especially with the consideration you could potentially damage connected equipment.     • Perfect Solution
We have updated our Stereo receiver to complement our New smart TV. Unbeknownst to me the receiver had no phono jack for my vantage turntable. The PreAmp was the “Perfect Solution” to my issue. It works great and sounds Awesome. YAY!!!

    • Much improved sound
This preamplifier removes much of the crackling and static I was dealing with. Stereo separation seems distinct and the volume level is much higher. I don’t have to crank my receiver to get decent sound levels. If you are toying with forking over money for a better phonograph buy this first.     • Perfect--Adds volume and clarity
This preamp works well with my Fluance RT 85 turntable (great turntable by the way). I have a phono input built into an Onkyo amp but the sound from the phono connection was soft and lame even at higher volumes. Everything else with the amp was good so I didn't want to return it (the connection worked but it seemed underpowered). I talked to Fluance and they suggested that I try this preamp to see if that solved the problem (excellent customer service btw). I connected this to the CD input (any input other than phono would work) and the sound now is perfect--good volume and clarity. One thing to pass along--I did not need a ground from the pre-amp to the amplifier (no hum without that ground). The turntable is grounded to the preamp. ... show more
