I mounted this above the workbench in the garage. At 1000 watt setting it quickly heats up the area and takes the chill away. I don’t really care for the pull chain switch, not sure it will be durable. I rigged it with a remote control so I don’t have to use the pull chain much.

Exactly what I was looking for. Attached to railing on poach so we can spend more time outside even when it is chilly. Have kept on low setting in 40-50 degree weather and it gave off the right amount of heat.

This unit should not be ceiling mounted. The mounting plate is poorly engineered to be used as ceiling mount. There are no instructions to mount it as ceiling mount. It is easy to knock the unit off its mounting plate simply by pulling the string to change the heat setting. The ceiling mount option given in the description should be edited! ... show more

    • Powerful radiant heater but the limitations of a radiant heater
Think of these like heater laser beams. you don't really "feel" anything unless you are in the beam so to speak. ie standing in its path. it works very well if you understand this limitation. point it at something heavy and dark and it will warm that up pretty decently so excellent over a dark table for example. what its really good for is a 3 season room and chilly nights. aim it at a couch or sofa on the patio and it will take the chill out for this sitting on the sofa. great for a patio home theater for example to extend int fall how long you can use that patio. ... show more
