This Square reader dock is perfect for using at your small business or pop-up sale. The dock has a good amount of weight to it so it won't move around easily. The color is perfectly matched to the Square reader which is a nice tough. It does have a strange method of plugging in and uses a USB-A to USB-A plug so if you need to have a longer cord, you might have to do some searching. The included cord is a good length though and should be sufficient. The dock comes with a wall plug to plug the USB cable into wish is also a nice bonus. I like the quality of this dock and look forward to using with my small business. As I'm getting back into flea markets and wanting to simplify people spending money with me, I grabbed this stand for my Square Reader and it works as expected. I think I got my square reader when it came out, and I don't feel like buying a new one, so this helps me keep it in use for a little while longer and holds it in place for customers to use comfortably. I am not sure how I got a Gen1 . I ordered the squares and the holders at the same time. Yet somehow received one Gen1 and one Gen2. Other than that the correct one works great !.

This only works on the 1st generation Square reader. (I knew this when I ordered.) It is a very sturdy reader and you can feel that just upon holding. The chip slot is in the back which seems backwards to me, but it doesn’t hinder it’s use. Price for quality is good.

    • A must have if you use Square card reader
This is a great gadget to have if you have a festival or small business and use Square for your POS system. This is the docking station for the actual, earlier version card readers from Square. The card reader slides into the top of the docking station and fits quite securely. When the whole thing is attached together it gives the card reader a larger profile and makes it easier for your customer to pay with their credit/debit card. The base of the docking station has a non-slip grip and stays pretty well stationary during the course of business.     • Nice, sturdy, easy to transport
First of all, this comes in a nice compact box which makes it easy to throw in with my market supplies. I was worried I'd have to move it from some bulky box with unnecessary "fluff" to a hodgepodge random box or worse, plastic bag. But alas, I can store it in it's original box with all of it's components. Very niche' but a bonus none the less. My square device fit nice and snuggly in here and all functional parts of the device were accessible. This has been a nice addition to my till set up. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have a 1st gen square card reader as well as the small card swipe reader that plugs into my phone. I have been holding off on getting an upgrade because it doesn’t take away from me being able to accept payments. Now that I have this dock, I don’t believe I’ll ever upgrade. This reader makes taking payments more efficient now that I don’t have to hold it up for customers who have to insert their chip. I didn’t really care for having to push down on the card reader in order for the button on the dock to work but it doesn’t really bother me since it doesn’t stop the reader from working properly. ... show more
