I was excited to purchase a car rack for my recently inhereted 2006 Honda CRV. During installation, I realized that the cross bar was too short to cover the top of the roof, but since Amazon suggested it would fit my vehicle, I figured that it was just user error. I applied some force to the mounting brackets and they seemed to hold the cross bar, so I figured it would be fine as long as I didn't mount anything heavy. I was wrong. Driving down the freeway, there was a loud whistling for a few minutes, and woosh, off flew one of the bars. Luckily there was sufficient space between me and the car following me so that it didn't cause an accident, but it easily could have done so. It has been a few months since my purchase and I'm out the $50, but maybe someone else can learn from my mistake and steer clear. This is instant garbage, I'd highly recommend not buying. Even if you have a different vehicle, it's very low quality, just buy something better, or invest in a strong epoxy. ... show more

Easy to install. Very nice aftermarket roof bars. Other buyers have issues with the incorrect screws size (too long) but not in my case. The bars added a sport look to the crv 02-06. Now I added the maxxhaul roof rack and the crv look great!

These crossbars fit my son’s 2005 CRV just fine but…the (8) mounting bolts were too long and needed be shortened with a dremel tool to achieve a snug fit. Otherwise the bolts “bottom out” before the mounting bases are snug. Also…the ABS covers will not stay snapped in place and would blow away the first time it was driven. However, we used a 5 minute epoxy inside the mounting posts for a secure (but permanent) installation. Once the installation was complete, there is no evidence of any modifications and they look and performs flawlessly. I believe the savings over the cost of OEM parts offsets the extra 30 minutes of labor I had to put in. ... show more

Not many options for budget cross bars for a nearly 20 year old 2006 Honda CRV. I went with these and they do work fine. However I do wish I would've found an OEM set of higher quality. Although mostly plastic (for the vertical supports) and extruded aluminum (for the bars), these have held up fine with a big Thule roof box filled with scrap car part. Installation may need some trimming to fit the plastic parts together. The brittle end caps are only held on by friction, so it's only a matter of time before they start to disappear. I have yet to locate where the whistle comes from. My solution has been to fully remove them before trips - ANNOYING! ... show more

I filled up the inside of the bars with polyurethane epoxy to stiffen them up. The bars are so flimsy I would almost say this is just for decoration than actual function. The OEM bars I used to have were much stronger but mine broke in a car accident and I could not find OEM ones anywhere. The mounts on the OEM ones are aluminum whereas these are plastic. ... show more
