To those people who have problems assembling this and are stripping screws out, you're doing it wrong. If you don't go Magilla Gorilla and over-tighten them they won't stripped out. Yes the top is pressboard. Most ready-to-assemble Furniture these days is. If you want solid would go find another stand and pay more. But if you follow the instructions and are careful about over-tightening you'll end up with a very solid stand. When assembling this Loosely insert all the screws and bolts to almost tight and assemble everything. Then tighten everything up ensuring all is level and square. I took one star off of my review because some of the wood on the cross member was a little dinged up on the corners and the Edge banding on the top does not meet each other flush in the back. There's about 1/8 inch Gap. Now I modified mine so that it wasn't 28 in tall. Mine now sits at 25 and a half inches which is absolutely perfect for sitting at the couch with my laptop or having dinner. I did this by shortening the tubes that go into the base by about two and a quarter inches.this is easily done with a hacksaw or a bandsaw. To do so I first removed the two upper screws on the crossmember. I then pushed the table down as far as it would go and through the screw holes marked on the tubes where the screw holes were. I then removed the top and the two tubes that now have screw whole mark. Then I simply cut just above those marks and reassembled everything. Works like a charm ... show more

roll over beethoven...these are big...I like that. I slid it under my bed and adjusted it to the height so sheets/blankets fit underneath. On the mornings where I am slow to wake up, I have my computer, water, note pad, and whatever so I can simply roll over and start the morning routine. do I knock it over, no. Do things spill. no..screw top on water bottle. hurt the computer, no. Need to be careful where the wireless mouse is, YES. I put a heavy ceramic bowl on the tray and Mr. Mouse goes in it. I have a programmable coffee pot to get me out of bed at 6:30. I bought two and put the other ones base underneath back of couch and tray sits on top of couch...no watermarks on the endt tables..sit sideways and the coffee is right there. its ok to be lazy in your own home. oh easy to assemble..higher quality than expected ... show more

I love this table! I am able to do my homework and turn around and eat off of it. It was so easy to put together and the even better part was that I didn't need to go looking for tools because they came with it. I am really thinking about ordering another one. It looks amazing and if you spill something on it, it is so very easy to clean up. The color is gorgeous and goes with everything in my room. I also love the fact that it has a place for my tablet and I can hook it up to charge without having to worry about cords being in the way. The pen holder comes in hand too. This is a nice small workspace. I use it as my desk for school. I wish it had more storage but it works really great otherwise. It’s really easy to put together. And it looks good too. I can fit my laptop and notes and a heavy planter on the workspace.

This table is very easy to put together and easy to move around. The wheels can be locked so it doesn't move around on you. It is plenty sturdy to hold a laptop and to write on. I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness simply because it's not as sturdy as a full desk. It's perfect for remote work.
