  • Easy to install
Size: 5ft x 10ft
We've installed nano ceramic window tint in two apartments, one with southwest-facing window and the other with west-facing windows, and have noticed significant cooling on sunny days. We love this product. It's easy to install (but you have to follow the directions carefully, and really clean the windows; google some YouTube videos), barely looks like it's there (we got 75% VLT), saved us significant money as a DIY project, and really works as advertised. ... show more

  • has a light blue cast, seems to lower radiant heat
Size: 2ft x 50ft
Goes on easily, watch the install videos. Get a good fresh rubber-edged squeegee. USE the slightly soapy water liberally at all phases. It is NOT reflective. It's thin / light but easy to handle, esp. if you have prior tinting experience. I'm happy with it so far, but just getting started on all my South and West facing windows. eta done with my south-facing windows and I have to say it is too blue. Which isn't mentioned in the item listing. But if it works to block radiant heat in the upcoming sunny and hot days, it will stay. ... show more

  • Whole house tinting
Size: 2ft x 100ft
I live in Las Vegas, it has been hot and even with all the double pane windows and glass doors, it still gets very hot in the rooms. I have over 10 glass doors and 30 window of varying sizes. To replace them all would cost thousands. We have shutters and blinds but that doesn’t do much as heat still come thru. My black out curtains in one bedroom really heats up. I decided that putting these light blocking curtain and shutter ended up making the house dark. That contributes to depression. So after some researched I found these nano ceramic tint, the same one that they use on cars. I didn’t want dark tint because that would contribute to darkening the rooms. With these tint, there is 75% light transmission that would bring plenty of light and still block out 92% of the Infrared (heat). It is a blue tint but that’s ok, it’s still plenty bright and makes the sky even nicer. After doing a dozen windows, and struggling with peeling the front layer off, I finally discovered and easier way to do it faster. They said to fold a corner and they work an edge. Well, if you wet your fingers it makes it even easier to peel the front layer off. Some of my windows are large or very long (79”). I found that once you got one cornered peeled, spray the glass and place the tint side onto the window to hold the tint in place and then peel the rest of the protective layer off. Once that is done, spray the entire sticky side of the tint, peel off from the glass, spray the glass, and place the stick side onto the glass. If you sprayed enough of the soapy water on the tint and glass, you should be able to move the tint around. Since the uncut is the truest straight edge, you can move the tint to one edge of the glass. That way you only need to cut the other three sides. Some other pointers. I used a squeegee from IKEA. $1. The rubber edge is actually squared but also stiff enough to do a good job of pushing out the water and getting into the edges. Clean the windows. I use a glass cleaning pad from Amazon that you can place on your drill. It really cleans the glass nicely. Be sure to clean and squeegee the glass a few times. Don’t use any cloth on the glass because it may leave lint. But before you do that, you still need the razor blade to clean the edges. My windows have a sealant which apparently has squeezed out and that needs to be cleaned off. Be sure to clean the bottom of the glass edge throughly because if you don’t, the dirt can actually get sucked upwards into the tint. This has happened to me a few times. So a toothbrush is a useful tool. Don’t worry about a perfectly installation of the tint. If there are some small bubbles and even lines, the tint will mold itself onto the glass when it is heated and the water evaporates. I am doing this in the middle of summer, so in a day for two the tint gets heated enough during the day that the bubbles disappears. I didn’t use a heat gun since it can get hot enough during the day. Have plenty of razor blades for clean and keep one for cutting the tint. But even the blade for cutting the tint may get worn a bit, so change that out too. ... show more

  • Hard to install. Worth it.
Size: 5ft x 10ft
I purchased this film for 2 large single pane windows in my cabin and here's my experience: 1. The window film is difficult to separate from its backing. This was a 2 person job for me as someone held up the film while I tried to peel away the backing. Once you get a small corner of the backing seperated it's easy to remove the rest. USE LOTS OF SPRAY WHILE YOU'RE DOING THIS! 2. The film is fairly forgiving in terms of placement (assuming you use ample amounts of spray). Make sure your window is perfectly clean or you'll be kicking yourself when you see small pieces of debris underneath. You can peel away, remove the debris and place back but you run the risk of adding letting more dust/dirt underneath. 3. The 75% film looks very nice. It does have a slight bluish hue to it, but assuming all surrounding windows are tinted the same, you won't notice a difference. It doesn't look like anything is on the window once you get used to the color and, for me, adds richness to the outdoor view. 4. The film does a good job at stopping heat. Because it stops heat AT the window, my windows have been getting much hotter themselves. The floors in front of the window, which used to get very hot, now stay cool in the same outdoor heat. 5. Small air bubbles will eventually disappear. I used a heat gun and did everything by the book and still got lots of tiny air bubbles. I finally got frustrated trying to squeegee all of them out and left them for a week before realizing they had gone away. Nice! 6. Overall, it seems to do the job. I wish I had measurement of the heat before and after, but based on knowing how hot my floors used to get before the film, I can safely say I'd recommend this film for heat reduction without being over-reflective from the outside. ... show more

  • Doesn't Block UV!
Size: 2ft x 6.5ft
I have transitions contact lenses (which are great by the way, they even come in a no vision correction version so anyone can wear them!). They basically make your eyes into automatic sunglasses whenever there is UV light such as when you are outside during the day or on the other side of this "UV blocking" film that clearly doesn't block UV. Here was my simple test: 1. Install the film on half of a window 2. Stick two transition contacts lenses to the window, one on the film and one off the film 3. Stick a 3rd contact in front of the unprotected portion of the window on the other side of my crystal clear, zero tint glasses with real UV blocking lenses The lens on the film got as dark as the the lens that wasn't on the film and the lens behind my UV blocking glasses lens didn't get dark at all. What a disappointment! Now there could be an issue with my test somehow so today I am going to buy a $400 UV meter to take proper measurements and I'll update this review once I learn more. See the pictures though! ... show more
