This thing is awesome. Instead of pushing a spreader, you carry it. Mind you, I was doing this already, usually to throw salt at problem areas.     • hard plastic, battery powered spreader - adj speed/volume, adj angle of spread
Hard plastic, fairly durable, after market/knock off battery powered spreader. It's large enough (hopper) that it will do a small to medium large area (depending on how fast you walk, your settings, etc.) Got it today, and immediately tried it out with pelletized lime. Note: THIS IS NOT for POWDER type products. The adjustments were easy to use, a simple turn of a dial or an adjustment sliding knob. It wasn't too heavy for me to use, but with the big battery on it - it's heavier than you might expect. I did about a shovel full of lime and then took a break. It's perfect for where I want/need to use it: around the barn, the corner of the house, the walkways, etc. The tractor spreader does the fields (you will not use this to do massively large chunks of land). It's rather nice having the battery, instead of cranking - bigger hopper too. Does the job. Obviously, it's not quite as sturdy, heavy duty as the 'real' version - and it's still a bit pricey - but it does the job without breaking the bank too much.     • For Older Folks, This Spreader Is A Life Saver!
I'm in my late fifties and both of my hands hurt at the base of my thumbs. Using a hand-cranked spreader is not really an option for me. When I saw this battery-powered one, I knew I had to have it. I already own a ton of Milwaukee tools, so I obviously have lots of batteries to power this unit. The spreader is well-built, has easy adjustments (speed, broadcast width), and has a large reservoir to hold granulated fertilizer and insecticide, which is what I use mine for. It does the job extremely well and I don't have to hurt my hands by cranking down on a handle. Highly recommended, especially for Amazon's low listed selling price! ... show more

If you have ever used a hand-cranked spreader you know what pain they can be for anything but a very small area. I don't have room to store a liitle-used push spreader so when I saw this one powered by Milwaukee batteries (I have an abundance of them) it was worth a shot. It seems decently constructed. Not Milwaukee quality but I think it will hold up for several years. It allows complete control over the material you're dispersing: quantity, speed, and width of throw. I quickly and easily put out my autumn pre emergent weed kill preventer. I'm actually looking forward to doing my spring overseeding and lawn pesticide granuals. The batteries attached and locked into place securely so there were no issues there. ... show more

This is a very effective way to seed your lawn with winter rye and spread fertilizer as well. I've only used this a couple of times and very pleased so far. Fits my M18 batteries perfectly. I don't have a very big lawn so the smaller battery does the job on a single charge while minimizing the total weight of the spreader. Worth the money. ... show more
