I really wish we would have gotten this thermometer sooner. We've been through so many different types, from the traditional, to ear, to forehead swipe and even forehead tape thermometers. None were great. They took too much time and/or were unreliable. This thermometer is awesome. Just point it at the person's forehead and in about 1 second you have a reading. Not only that, but it lights up green if your temperature is in the normal range and red if you have a fever, so no more guesswork. You really can't get much easier than that. While we haven't used it with anyone sick yet, we did put it to the test, taking multiple readings. I tested its ability to detect fever by putting a heating pad on my forehead and then taking a reading right after removing it--of course, I would be dead if I actually had a reading as high as it registered, but it's good to know this thermometer is so sensitive. I'm so happy and relieved to have this thermometer, especially as cold and flu season are now upon us, all while there is also COVID-19 to contend with. If you have young children and/or kids in school, this thermometer truly is a must. You can check their temperature any time without disturbing them. I’ve had plenty of opportunity to use touchless thermometers over the past 18 months (whaaaat?! I know, shocking but true). Most of them feel like cheap toys, and not really giving off the vibe of being a quality product. This unit is different. It feels solid and does not have the generic body most of them have. The trigger click has a very positive response, as do the buttons on the side. I was really happy that the LPOW defaults to BODY and Fahrenheit, unlike some units that default to Celsius. There are multiple options to select your preferences including F/C, sound ON/OFF, Surface/Body and color coded parameter settings. The most recent 50 readings can be reviewed by pushing the Memo button, allowing you to track your temperature over a period of time. The instructions are well written and easy to understand. Comparing the reading against two high-end automated readers in my office building, this LPOW unit was within 0.3 degrees. I’d say that’s pretty accurate. I read a few negative reviews that cited trouble with the disposable protective cover on the screen. I did not have this issue, mine had a small pull tab and it peeled cleanly off. ... show more

I found this thermometer to be easy to use. I ordered it to replace an older infrared thermometer that you have to slide across the forehead to take a reading. This non-contact thermometer is much easier to use! I like the green/yellow/red display feature that quickly gives an indication of whether the person's temperature is in a healthy range. The device also beeps when the reading is complete which is helpful for measuring your own temperature since you won't be able to see the display. Measurement repeatability was excellent, and the thermometer correctly noted my lower-than-normal resting temperature which is usually in the range of 97.7 - 98.1. The instrument has "body" and "surface" modes for measuring forehead temperature and other object temperatures such as food to make sure it is not too hot for your sick patient. The attached photo shows my cup of coffee is in need of warming... STAT! Overall the device works well and for the price I can't really think of anything to note as a negative. ... show more
