There are many safes of this type on the market, and this one has both durability as well as a rather clever mounting system......the mounting bracket can be utilized left or right for vertical mounting, or suspended from desk or shelf.....I mounted mine on the vertical side of a dresser that's beside my bed, and utilized the unused portion of the mount to attach a small shelf.....great place for an alarm clock or a phone! Thanks again for a great product at a very reasonable price! P. S. thanks for offering the slider safe without the fingerprint reader...I'm retired and after many years of working with my hands, there's not much left of my fingerprints!     • Almost a great safe
The thickness and security of the safe are great. However, the sliding compartment that holds the pistol doesn't come far enough out to actually draw the pistol without having to pull it the rest of the way out. That might not be a big deal, except for the fact that many safes of this style that are half the cost have no problem making full open to smoothly access the pistol. Also, I'd you have any type of light or laser on your pistol it may not fit without removing the foam insert meant to hold the pistol, which is definitely less convenient. I have a glock 19 with streamlight tlr-7 with low profile switches and it barely fits in the foam slot. All in all I believe it's a more durable safe than many like it but I would feel a lot better if I'd paid about $50 less than I did for this. ... show more

The safe is very solid, well-designed, and easy to install and program. The inside is quite large and could accommodate pretty much any full-size handgun with a red dot and a light if it were not for the included foam. Fortunately, one can cut the foam to fit a large handgun, and the manufacturer really stands behind the product and will provide a replacement original foam for free for a smaller handgun. ... show more

    • Not for revolvers
This product, as sold, is for semi autos only. A revolver will not be securely held in place and will fall to one side, allowing the grip to hang-up on the safe frame when opening.

    • Sturdy and easy to use
Update 2024- Completely stopped working. Won't open with pin code. Total waste. Do not buy. Sturdy unit which is very heavy and tough. It is easy to program and use however. Good buy.
