  • Will save you money.
Style: pH salt 5 in 1 tester
Does a excellent job. I do not write many reviews but for this product I will take the time , very accurate. I had been taking my water to a pool supply store and having it tested and buying salt from them, now I test my own water and go to home depot or lowes and buy the pool salt at about 1/3 of the price. The way that I know its accurate is by following the recommended amount of salt to be added to my pool as per my instruction that came with the pool, if the instuctions say to add a certain amount of salt to raise to a certain level and I retest it comes ou to what it should be. ... show more

  • Better than deciphering test strips
Style: pH salt 5 in 1 tester
Seems accurate. Note you do have to calibrate for the pH readings and requires distilled water to do it. Used it once so far and a lot easier than trying to decipher colors on test strips. My first reading showed 7.9 pH in pool and colors on test strips were hard to decipher but was somewhere between 7.8 and 8.4 “color”. Needs about 15 seconds to level out reading but good. Wish there was one that read chlorine, calcium and CYA so I could throw out the crappy test strips. ... show more

  • Reasonable Product for pond
Style: Salt 4 in 1 tester
This is simple to use for a pond, but you need to know your variables for your pond to be able to use it. We use it to keep our Koi pond at .1% salinity. There is an accuracy margin that makes this difficult to be 100% certain, but we have pond plants that are a very good indicator too. We also keep it in the water for a couple minutes when there's a big difference between air temp and pond temp to be sure the temp reading is as accurate as possible. If we do it too fast, we can be off by .02%+. In 8 months, it has maintained its calibration and performed consistently. We make sure to rinse with distilled water and use a paper towel to soak up extra water drops without touching the nodes to ensure no buildup affects the readings. I do not fully submerge it. I have excellent water flow so the full pond volume moves through the waterfall 2-3× per hour though. Not all ponds are equal. This has worked very well for us, but if you have a slow pump, I recommend getting a sample in a cup/bucket on a stick to get a sample from bottom to top and measuring that. I get consistent readings in the waterfall and any spot of my pond. The temp is accurate to my pond thermometer within a minute or two. With winter, the meter is as warm as the house then I put it in 40°F or colder water, it needs a minute or so. In late summer when water and air were about the same still, it was pretty instantaneous. We also do the math on paper when changing water and adding salt back. Dual checks are important to preserve plant life and protect the fish. We might buy a more expensive salinity only someday, but you can be diligent and use this to *verify your results. You shouldn't ever blindly use a meter with living things. Always calculate by pond volume too. It's just what you do to be certain. Ther isn't a simple way to use salt in a pond. But there is a simple way to check on your results! ... show more

  • Works good for salt water aquariums
Style: Salt 4 in 1 tester
Got this to make checking the salinity of my tank quicker and more reliably. Wasn’t quite sure of the calibration of my optical one or this one so I bought some fritz calibration fluid. It was not hard to calibrate and it’s stayed accurate since.

This is a very handy tool for any pool owner. Easy to use and easy to read display makes it easy to monitor your Ph and salt levels. Highly recommend!

  • Simple, easy to use to monitor the salinity of your saltwater aquarium.
Style: Salt 4 in 1 tester
Just turn it on and dip it in the water. I didn't need to do any calibrations. Worked right out of the box. I use the PPT meter to ensure I have the right salinity for my salt water reef tank.

  • works very well, then it didn't
Style: pH salt 5 in 1 tester
I've only had this tester for two months. I can't get it to shut off by pushing the button nor can I get it to change modes. I've take the batteries out and tried to reset it but something has gone wrong with it. it is 30 days out of warranty.

  • Ease of use
Style: pH salt 5 in 1 tester
With a salt water pool this works great. Instructions are ok but I’m hoping I won’t need to calibrate as that might be harder. It would be nice if the instructions were water proof.
