    • This is what you're looking for to keep skunks out from under your shed
I had a problem with skunks getting under a back yard shed. After spending $450 to get the family of skunks removed (and two of these Dig Defence devices pounded into the ground in front of the holes the skunks dug), I decided to get smart and buy my own and put them around the shed. I've bought two sets of these now, one from the manufacturer, and one from Amazon (easier purchase process). These dudes are stainless steel, so they won't rust. I love stainless steel for just about anything metal, but for this application they're perfect. Also - they don't appear to be all that well welded together - just tack welded bits of thick stainless wire. Wrong. I beat these things into nearly a pretzel, and NONE of the welds broke, or even showed signs of stress. These items will stand up to an incredible pounding, and not separate or break. You will need a big hammer - at least a substantial ball peen hammer (I used a three pound sledge - perfect if you have one and can handle that much weight). Wear gloves - if you slip or miss a hit, it could save a nasty gouge. Also - you may hit a root or a rock - while these things pound pretty easy in plain dirt, if you hit a root, it's like trying to drive a nail in concrete. Literally. I left some of these partially driven, as the roots will die long before the stainless rusts. I might suggest the manufacturer slightly sharpen the ends that go in the ground, although I'm not sure it would help much. Overall - a great purchase, and for the money I paid, at least, you won't get them cheaper. ... show more

    • Sturdy and Easy to Install
I have a vinyl fence and my dog digs to escape under the fence. Dig Defence X-Large is incredibly easy to install and is very sturdy. In the areas where it was installed she doesn’t even try to dig to escape. I thought she might try to pull it out like she did the decorative fence I had installed around the gas meter, but she didn’t. The only downside is the price. It’s very expensive, but I decided to splurge because it is so easy to install, looks better and is sturdier than chicken wire, and I know our dog will be safe. I have the X-Large in areas with a wider space between the fence and ground and the Large everywhere else. ... show more

    • Impressed but pricy
Who ever thought of this was genius...this works like a charm...installed myself and although easy for a female to install you need some strength; agree if your ground is hard soften it with water or wait for a light rain and do it. ...they are pricy for the number you get; there are 5 grates in a set and cover 10 feet; they blend in well with standard chain link fencing and can be painted if you have another color fence; it actually prevented my neighbor from hell 2 aggressive dogs from digging under my fence to get at my fur babies; highly recommend.... ... show more

    • Good product, horribly misleading
THIS IS ONLY 5 PIECES! Do not misread 5 pack 5 count to mean 25 pieces. It means 5. Very misleading discription further backed up by people answering questions which are allowed to remain. They approved shipping back, and the quality looks like it would be good, not worth $86 though.

Put this up with regular hammer to block where gofer dug under fence. Haven’t see the gofer since it works

We used these to keep groundhogs from going under our deck in the back. They work great they are easy to install and kept the critters out. they are a little expensive but they work.

    • Must have for dog owners with a fence
Wow. Finally found something to put along the fence where we have a bit of erosion. We have 2 small dogs so I’ve been worried about them slipping through the gap. Not that big of a gap but enough to worry. Very easy to install and no more worries.
