  • This nailer was great!
As a first time do it yourself roofer.. let me just say I did my research. I decided to do my own roof because of the savings, and I enjoy some hard work. My roof took a total of 5 weeks to complete, as I’d get hone from work and get a few hours of roofing in. Once you get the hang of the angle snd pressure, nailing is super simple. 2500 sq feet, roughly 80 packs of shingles, 20 shingles per package-1600 shingles with 4 nails per shingle means by the time you finish nailing all 6400 nails.. you are a pro! My favorite part was looking over the roof each day to see the new rows of shingles.. and slowly but surely watching the new look take form. The nailer was nice. My dad had a air compressor which he allowed me to borrow, plus a nice long 75 ft hose stretched across the whole roof. If I didn’t have an air-compressor I definitely would have bought a battery powered nailer. I don’t personally think it’s necessary, I’d rather save the money, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying a air compressor just to do a roof. The hose can get under you if you aren’t paying attention. Aaa first timer, and a person with fires right and who researches, I def think this dewalt nailer helped me get the job done. The nail coil flap is plastic, but it’s fine bc it does the job perfectly. The canister is metal as it should be. If you are doing a roof, this is a good nailer. If you are doing several, I wouldn’t say this is the best option, as I don’t know. I plan on making a storage shed or two, with matching shingles, snd I’m super confident for starting that job soon with this nailer ready to go! ... show more

  • Excellent nail gun
Works good, I put on two roofs so far shooting inch and a quarter nails about 32 square total and no problems yet. Couple drops of oil every now and then and good to go

  • Worked as expected
Used it on a couple of roofing projects now. Keep it clean and oiled and it works great.

  • which is pretty thick and sturdy as well
These things are built solid as a rock, the only plastic part is the coil cover, which is pretty thick and sturdy as well. Loading the coil is simple and quick, the quick depth setting knob is very useful when switching from shingle to flashing and back. It does tend to double tap easily, but the 2nd tap does not advance a nail which is nice. The last nail in the coil is always discarded and it didn't come with a belt/rafter hook which is why I took off one star. Otherwise this is a rock solid gun. ... show more

  • Rattah tat tat tat tat
This is the one. I'm telling ya, you can go spend your big dollars on a higher end roofing nailer, or you can save your money for an Alaskan cruise mid summer while all the other roofers are becoming their own personal sizzling human pieces of bacon up there, while still keeping your rhythm without ever missin. True semi automatic, the price is right Bobby.... ... show more

  • Great Nailer
The last time I did a roof was for a 10x14 shed. I did that with a hammer. Never again. Especially now. This nail gun worked great!! I did a complete tear off of a 15x24 hip roof. This roofing nailer helped me to get the entire roof done in a day by myself. It was easy to load and use. The trigger is very sensitive and double fired a couple of times. It jammed once but was very easy to get the gun unjammed. I think this is going to be VERY helpful when I put an extension on the garage and build my workshop. ... show more

GREAT GUN I BOUGHT 5 OF THEM AND ALL 5 WHITE TRIGGER VALVES FAILED, WITH IN FIRST MONTH. SERVECE REP CAME TO MY HOUSE EACH TIME PICKED THEM UP, TOOK GUN TO SERVICE CENTER IN PHILLY REPLACED VALVE, SENT THEM RIGHT BACK TO ME, NO CHARGE. I HAVE OVER 40 BOSTITCH ROOFING GUNS. • Not up to DeWALT’s standards
This gun has been a disappointment. I like DeWALT tools and own quite a few because of their consistent quality. This gun doesn’t live up to the other tools. So far, I’ve tried both 1 1/4” nails and 1 3/4” nails. Both have experienced frequent jams (1 in 10 nails), failure to auto feed the nails, and random multiple nails being fired (I’ll get between zero and three nails being fired with each trigger pull). ... show more
