Really impressed by the quality of this thing! Looks great and is super solid. I’m currently using it as a table until the weather gets cold. Some highlights: Quality - I'm truly impressed with the workmanship. No rough edges or flaws, just a high quality fire pit. Attractive lid - The lid is really neat! At first, I thought the slats were wood, but upon closer inspection, it looks like patio decking material, which should be very durable. Sturdy - It's thick and has an extremely solid, heavy build. Size - The larger version was too big for us, so we went ahead with the smaller one and it’s just perfect. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality outdoor fire pit and table. It’s super short for a table or a grill, maybe even as a fire pit. But other than that I do like the diameter of it, style, quality, thickness, sturdiness, and versatility. This is a quality made fire pit, thick cast iron, very sturdy, looks great and the table top cover is great for holding food or beverages when we are not having a fire. So much better than the stamped steel pits that rust out after 3 years. Very pleased with this purchase!

The unit arrived with the outer coating chipped off of its rim - I wasn't so bothered because I know that with use imperfections would start to appear around the unit, but I was disappointed that the black coating is so thin and will easily start to crack/peel off with use. The big problem with this unit is that the fire bowl has a hole in its bottom and that bowl sits on a hollow ring. My first time using this fire pit I roasted lamb above the fire - the fat from the lamb dripped down onto the coals and subsequently worked its way down to the bottom of the fire pit and dripped through the hole and created a large oil stain on my concrete patio. I can't even figure out how to put a pan beneath the fire pit to catch the grease - the hollow ring needs to sit flat on the ground to be stable - I supposed I could place a small round aluminum pan inside the hollow ring, but I shouldn't have to. I don't want to put an aluminum pan inside the fire pit because later during the cooking process I dumped the old colds/ash into the fire pit to enable my kids to roast marshmallows. I don't even want to use this on the grass because the grease would still drip onto the ground attracting ants and other pests. Poorly designed - not worth the money. I'm sorry I bought it. ... show more

Very nice except the paint just chips off. I took it out of the bubble wrap and there was little paint chips everywhere. Apparently the paint around the rim of the bowl is coming off. So dissapointed!
