  • Works amazing. Best unit for a great price.
Size: 18000 BTU - 230V - 22 SEER2
I’ll start off with the install was pretty easy. I’m not very handy and I was able to do 90% of the install by myself. (The other 10% would be the electrical box). The unit is VERY quiet, both inside and out. You can’t even tell the outside condenser is on except for the fan slightly spinning. The inside unit is quiet and powerful. I’ve been keeping the fan on a 2 or 3 out of a maximum 6 fan speed. It spits out ice cold air. My only complaint is that the inside unit is a little larger than I would like it to be. Would definitely purchase again. ... show more

  • DIY install was pretty straightforward, and saved me a TON of money!
Size: 12000 BTU - 115V - 22 SEER2
I had gotten a few bids to add a mini-split heat pump to one of the rooms in my house, and they were all in the $7K range, which I didn't want to spend. Part of that cost was going to be the cost of installing a new 220v outlet. This is basically the biggest BTU heat pump that can run on a standard 110V outlet, and so I decided to take on the project myself! I added a ducting kit, a surface wire run, a wall mount for the compressor, a long heavy gauge power cord, AND a vacuum pump for getting the refrigerant lines set up, and the total bill was about $1350, which was way more palatable than $7K! This unit comes with everything you need otherwise, including a wall transit tube for the refrigeration lines, putty to fill the gaps, a flange for the outside of the wall transit tube, etc. I have never done this before, but it wasn't too bad. I watched their install video, and did a few YouTube videos to get myself up to speed. All in all, it was about 9 hours of work, including all the ducting, vacuuming the lines, and everything. And I did it all by myself. The indoor unit isn't too heavy, and it wasn't too hard lifting it into place on the bracket by myself. I have had it installed for about a month now, and it has been used in both heating and cooling mode. The remote is pretty decent, but I'm mostly using the cell phone app to control it, which gives you a bit more control, like what blowing pattern to use. (It can blow up, down, left, right, or any combination of those, with its "precision flow" settings. So you can have it automatically blowing in a changing pattern.) I have not noticed any big hit on my power bill during that time, and it is keeping that room quite comfortable! And the indoor unit makes basically no sound. The compressor is wall mounted to the back of my garage, and I can hear a little hum when the compressor is running, but I don't care, because it's my garage. I would not want to do a wall mount for the compressor on a wall of an an interior room of my house, because even though it is quiet, it is noticeable. So in that case, I would add a pad on the ground and mount it to that. So even though the manual states that it should be installed by a professional, if you're moderately handy, have the time, and don't mind searching YouTube for pointers on how to do things like vacuum the lines, it really was a good DIY install! The only downside of that is that I can't get my state's tax credit for installing an efficient system, unless I went through the hassle of registering myself as a "qualified installed", which I could have done, but I'm super happy with both the cost and the result, so I decided not to go through that step. ... show more

  • Easy install
Size: 12000 BTU - 230V - 23 SEER2
I added the mini split to my bedroom as we like it cooler when sleeping. Easy app to schedule time on/off and at what temperature. My only complaint is that the copper is very thin. My flaring tool kept splitting the end when attempting to shorten the low-pressure side. All in all, it's a great unit for the price. ... show more

  • So far so great
Size: 12000 BTU - 230V - 23 SEER2
Luckily I have a brother that's an electrician and a good friend who's an HVAC technician so with the 3 of us the install went very well and was easy to do. I believe I could of installed the unit by myself with watching some YouTube videos but to keep my warranty I used certified technicians. The inside and outside units are extremely quiet which was a very pleasant surprise. Running the unit at the coldest setting it was coming out at 49° which was amazing. It moves air very far across the room and so far works better than expected. All in all I'm very happy with the unit and install. Not sure about my electric bill but that was the least of my worries. ... show more

  • I bought a second, *read if you’re going to DIY*
Size: 12000 BTU - 230V - 23 SEER2
I’m a mechanic and have refrigerant cert but had never worked with a split unit. I first checked the App Store for rating of the app and that ultimately made my decision to go with the Della brand. I feel as though all the splits on Amazon are junk until you get to the $$$ Japanese name brand stuff so an App Store rating was to me a good indicator of build quality, as weird as that sounds. Installed the 12k version in a well insulated 150sf she shed (because overkill). It gets 110f here and we wanted to be able to cool down the room in minutes when we haven’t used the room in days. This unit is impressive, it takes the room temperature down 10f in minutes and is nearly silent. Install was easy but I’m inclined, drilled a ~3” hole and mounted the inside unit, and used $30 l brackets to mount the condenser on the other side of the wall. I cut the line set to about 3’ and used a flare tool. This was just for aesthetics as I could have left the line coiled up. As I opened the evaporator I was concerned because there was pressure but I realized it was nitrogen and that was a good sign. I then attached the line set between the condenser and evaporator and went to pull a vacuum. Nope- I did not have the correct r410 adapter for my gauge set… 1 good friend and 30 minutes later I had the vacuum pump running. Pulled my unit down to 200 microns (because overkill), removed gauges, opened the valves on the condenser and was ready for a test run. Covered all outside lines with a cheap plastic 3” cover, used expanding foam and caulked the covers. Failed to mention power, 20a breaker to the condenser 10 feet away via 1/2” emt and a short 1/2” seal tight flex whip. The evaporator is powered by an output section on the condenser and it included SO wire the same length as the line set ~15’ to the evaporator inside. Directions were adequate but obviously translated. Overall I was very pleased, just purchased the 18k unit for my 2 car garage. I’m now a cheap split unit believer. ... show more
