  • A solid, sleek, frigid little beast.
Size: 10000 BTU
Have had the AC unit since earlier this afternoon. My iPhone reports 62 dB from about 4 inches away, with a (fairly pleasant) peak around 750hz. The compressor is very quiet, the fan makes a good deal of noise. Likely more a function of the small louvre than the rotational speed of the fan itself. The unit is pleasant to look at; sleek, futuristic, minimal styling, and its diminutive proportions make it “cute” even (not quite adorable but who’s counting) Feature set is adequate, though not overwhelming. I can adjust the activation temperature from my phone 20 minutes before I get home, for example. WiFi connection was easy to set up (just remember to switch your phone to a 2ghz WiFi network before setting it up). Thermostat works as expected. When the AC turns off from the ambient temperature having reached the thermostat’s setting, the fan continues to run for a few minutes while the unit calms down, if the internal humidity is above a certain point. This is all expected operation, and good to see. My 240-260 sq feet of room is adequately cooled in mere minutes (outside temp 90 F, humidity about 60%). Due to the length of the exhaust hose and the placement of my bed, I used an additional room fan to aid in dispersing the cold air from the AC unit. Setting up the window kit was extremely easy, intuitive even, and will only be a challenge if you have literal trash for brains. Just kidding, don’t be offended if you’re reading this and had issues; but seriously. Look at the pieces, look at your window. There is likely only one way that it all goes together. The exhaust hose will only slide into the rear of the unit one way, and snaps into place with a satisfying little click. FOR ANYONE having issues with the umbilical hose coming out of either end, try this first: with both ends loose (not attached to the window fitting, or the AC unit), spiral (as a verb, sort of like “screw”) the end of the exhaust hose into a) the square end that connects to the AC unit and b) the flared end that clicks into the window slat. Screw/spiral several times until there are several “threads” of the umbilical firmly screwed around the threads of the parts that attach to either end. Test the fitting with your hands by gently trying to pull it out, do this before you finally seat the ends in the window slat and the AC proper. After that, it should take some serious force to detach incidentally. Also, make sure that the hose has only gentle slopes or minimal “corners”/curves (no wacky curves in all 3 different dimensions) so that the hot air has an easy, unobstructed, convection-friendly route from the rear of the unit to the exterior side of your window. So far, everything is as expected, and I am extremely happy with the unit’s apparent build quality and operational efficiency. Will update this review if anything changes. ... show more

  • Very happy with this new purchase
I live in a very hot and humid southern state. My central AC unit died, and the replacement estimates run from $6500 to $8500 depending on the size. As I like heat, I decided to try a standalone unit and maybe add more later. The Della 14000 BTU arrived yesterday, which was about 2.5 days after placing the order. It was very well packaged and the box showed no signs of wear and tear. The setup was very easy -- the thing that took longest was prying open my window! I had to cut the sliding window attachment to fit, but that was easy. The exhaust hose attachment that fits into this fell off easily, but it was easy to fix by pressing the plastic attachment so that the clip points were tighter. Remote works fine, but have to remove a small screw to install battery. I switched the unit on and was pleasantly surprised at its quietness. Cool air was immediate. The unit is in a dining-room area that is wide open to an adjacent kitchen and living room. The LR has a doorway to the main bedroom. As the house had not had any cool air for days, it was extremely hot (90F) and humid. I inserted the drain hose into a gallon jug, set the unit to 77F and medium fan and left the house. I came back two-and-a-half hours later. The house did not feel very cool--the temp reading on the unit was 81F, and the jug had overflowed about a pint of water. I turned the unit on high and had to empty the jug about once every hour or so. I switched the unit to "sleep" and went to bed. I could barely hear the unit when the cooling was on. I figured the unit might work better on the second day, as the house would be cooler and drier to start with. That is what I found. With a low temp setting and on high fan, water still collects about a gallon every 1.5 hours, but even with the large square footage (as described) of the area, my feet got cold. Here are my main points: 1. Unit is very quiet. 2. Set up was very easy. 3. Even in this very large square foot area (about 1200 sq ft!) it gets cool enough for me--be aware that I like heat. I may buy additional unit for remote guest bedroom area. I would not hesitate to get this unit again, based on 24 hours of usage. 4. Definitely gets humidity out of the area. The drain hose attaches at the back, about half-way up the unit, which makes draining into jugs very easy. The jug is out of site, behind the unit. But, I will probably install a simple through-wall automatic drain to avoid emptying jugs. 5. As noted by others, the exhaust hose does get hot, but much less so when the room is not hot to begin with. 6. The attachment to the widnow opening needs weather stripping as there is a notable gap. 7. My box did not have the cap that you would need if you do a through-the-exterior-wall exhaust. 8. If you live in a humid area, you will want to have a simple drain system. 9. The unit does have heating capability, but I have not tested that yet. 10. I have no idea how this will affect my power bill...I hope that will not be bad news. I am updating this review... I decided to buy a second unit. IN coming back to AMazon, I noticed there had been a price drop of $50 since my first purchase, which was 3 days before. I contacted the company through Amazon, requesting that they reimburse $50, as the price drop was so close to the original purchase. I received email responses later that same day (!) stating that my request was approved and a reimbursement was being processed. I think that's very professional! I am just as happy with the second unit as the first. I am exploring the various machine settings. For example, on the "Dry" setting, there is also cooling, so I am not sure how this differs from the "Cool" setting. Regardless, I am extremely happy with the purchases. Still do not know the effect on my power bill. ... show more

  • Works great the vent hose though
It has plenty of air movement cooled down the space pretty quickly. But the vent hose is junk one time use once you extended it won't collapse to store it for how much I paid for it I would expect a decent vent hose

  • Great value
Size: 10000 BTU
I took a chance on this one over some higher priced models; glad I did. Works great and I was able to easily get it set up with Alexa so that’s a nice bonus. Well worth it.

  • Do not buy this item…it’s crap and so is customer service
Update: Product does not even slightly keep up when it’s hot out. Had it on all day yesterday, and never cooled the room below 80 degrees. However the company purchased from was very helpful. Assistance from product company (Della) was terrible. Will need to purchase another brand that actually cools the room. Worthless piece of crap. Spent extra money to get a WiFi air conditioner unit. Unit arrives … can’t get the WiFi to work. Call customer service, they say that they heard it might be related to some issue with the fact that I already had and was using the app for other devices. App is not their app but some other company. App works fine for me for the other things on it. They promise to call back… and don’t. I call them again. They don’t pick up. Voicemail cuts me off before I can finish my name and number. Call again and it won’t let me save the message, cuts me off again. Other issues: 1) the overall design is bad. Air comes out the top so you can not properly adjust the air where you are sitting 2) the piece that goes into the window is too small. I have two other portable ac units and both provided a large enough piece to fit in my windows properly. 3) their is no way to tell what the settings on the unit are if you are seated. Remote doesn’t show the information and because settings are on the top of the unit, you can not see them without standing up…this is not true of either of me other portable ac units. ... show more
