This wire cutter makes quick work of stripping wires from 22 to 10 gauge a very nice range. I specifically ordered this to support my hobby which uses the smaller 22 -18-gauge wire. However, in my test as seen in the photos, covered a wide range of different types of wire, wire coatings and gauges. Effortlessly stripped each wire instantly. No twisting and turning to make sure the stripper had made a clean cut, just squeeze and pull off the coating. Every single gauge worked identically fast.     • A little slippery, but surprisingly good for the price

I'm actually quite surprised at how well this wire stripper works, considering its low price. I tried with everything from 30AWG to 26AWG, both silicone and PVC insulation. Rarely did it fail to strip the wire, and it only occasionally broke a strand off. There's a small adjustment thumbscrew on top, to account for wire/insulation thickness. Loosen for thinner wire, tighten for thicker. Also included is a strip length gauge. It provides a visual indicator, but doesn't have a stop to hold the wire in the right spot. Not terribly useful, but I appreciate it all the same. It even did a decent job stripping the outer jacket off of flat cable while leaving the internal insulation intact. It wasn't perfect, but I've seen worse. The one place it failed was stripping the outer jacket off of ethernet cabling, but since it isn't rated for this I won't hold it against it. Build quality is basic, but pretty good. One handle is stamped steel, while the other parts are a stiff nylon. Plastic molding and the paint job aren't flawless by any means, but serviceable and expected at this price. Both handles are a bit slippery, so I found my hand sliding upwards with each squeeze, but it's easy to re-adjust. Overall, it's a surprisingly good tool for not a lot of money. If you're a pro you'll probably want something substantial, but this is great for the hobbyist or DIYer. ... show more

I've been meaning to get one of these wire strippers for some time. Up until recently, I mostly used the needle nose or line men's pliers and usually ended up hacking the wires to pieces. I like this tool since it easily and cleanly strips the insulation of a wide range of the most common sizes. I've used it on several gauges and it performed well. I tried this out on a few different gauge wires and even a double wired extension cord, and it was able to easily strip back the wire sheaths. Very easy to use grip style stripper, and metal construction should stand up to light/medium duty use.

Great wire stripper tool and has a handy cutter too. The strippers are light but solid and have a turn spring to increase and decrease tension so I’m not ripping cables apart. The build is solid.

The media could not be loaded. This wire stripper/cutter works on many types of wire gauges. The stripper also works on solid and stranded wires and can even strip multiple wires simultaneously. This makes stripping wires very convenient and easy.
