    • This is a Dehumidifier, but several differences than description
The item that I received is different than what is pictured in the listing and has a few feature differences. I will start off with saying that the dehumidifier that I received is for small spaces. I am using this in tandem with another similarly sized small dehumidifier, and a larger unit in a bigger room during the recent heat wave with higher humidity in our old farmhouse. After running for approximately 48 hours in our kitchen, the catch tank was approximately half full, so it is seemingly pulling water out of the air. Since the item did not match the picture in appearance, I wondered what else was different. I measured the amount of water collected to give the appearance of a half-full tank and it was give-or-take 16oz. To confirm my suspicions, I filled the large measuring cup that I used up to 32 oz and dumped that into the catch tank which filled it nearly to the point of overflowing, so there is no way that what I received has a 70 oz. tank. The item I received also did not include a drain hose or any place to connect one if there was one. Does it work? Seemingly yes. But it is not as large as described and does not meet all of the described features. It will work fine for small spaces or in tandem with other dehumidifiers placed in various rooms of the house. Overall it was not what I was expecting, and was not what was described hence my lowered stars. ... show more

    • Compact and quiet, fills slowly
I had a much larger one of these back when I had bigger houses and it worked nicely to help cool the air in summer and get rid of moisture in winter. I thought it was time to get a smaller one for my apartment as the summer humidity was setting in. I find drier air in summer helps it feel cooler and maybe I can ease up on the AC a hair. This unit is very quiet. It has a "day/Night" setting that is basically High and Medium respectively. It's been going in my 56% humidity apartment for over a week and is only about 1/2 full. I think it's too small for my space. I knew that based on it's square foot rating, but still thought it would make a decent dent in the humidity. It really hasn't. I'm not quite sold on the effectiveness of this unit. Perhaps it could be OK for a big walk in closet if you were concerned with mold. If my opinion changes I'll come back and update things. ... show more

Didn’t realize how humidity of my house. After I using this compact machine, I found out everyday it can get almost 10-20 oz water. My water tank is 70 oz which means I don’t need to empty it everyday. It is small but powerful. The inclusion of a drain hose allows for continuous drainage. I really like the auto shut off feature which prevent the overflow. There are two working modes, which can easily switch. I like the flexibility for different needs. The media could not be loaded. The mechanics are all there, but it handles only small area, certainly not 800 sq. ft. I left it on in the basement for 24 hrs. It gathers around 6 oz of water and humidity went down only slightly. It has no humidity sensor, it’s basically on or off, with a low and high setting (louder). You can cycle through different color or lightings with the third button. There is no separate hose runoff or pump, when It fills up, it stops. The only place I can envision where this can be used would be a small room where traffic is minimal, because of the time it takes to dehumidify. ... show more

The picture that accompanies this product does not give an indication of what it looks like and I was expecting something else. It looks like a typical small dehumidifier. The size means it is only effective in small spaces like the bathroom. I use it in there and it does help a bit.
