The floor gets very slippery with the humidity in my home and at times it gets crazy to the point where the machine does its very best to clear all the water on the floor. However when it is way too humid I guess like everything else the machine has its limit. I don't really have any complaints because it keeps things dry for the most part. The room gets very humid and smells moldy and I am not sure about 800+ sq ft coverage but for a room that fits 2 queen size beds and part of the hallway, it does a very good job! I would give it a 4.5 stars but I will give it 5 because it works very well about 97%. Hope this helps ... show more

I live in a semi basement apartment. Room always smelled musty or locker room damp. No leaks in room. Since using this the room is now smelling fresh and clean and no damp feeling. Display turns red when catch bucket is full. Work great for my small apartment. Con: the lighted display to me is too bright at night but I’m light sensitive while sleeping. After researching and reading many reviews, I chose this little dehumidifier to tackle the humidity problem in my unducted sunroom. It does the job pretty well. After a week of running continuously, the water tank is almost full. And I think it is helping both my bedroom and large bathroom, as the sliding door between my bedroom and sunporch is left open. I do have central A/C (a necessity, I think, in Florida), my home has very efficient windows, so the A/C doesn't have to run often to maintain a comfortable temperature. The only negative, which I admit is just a minor thing, is that the colored light doesn't add any benefit to the product. And, as a caution to those who think just clicking the night mode takes care of that, it turns the dehumidifier down, which decreases its efficiency. In my home, which is in humid Florida (and this is midsummer), it means the humidity level goes from 46% when I touch that button before going to bed to 51% in the morning. Since the ideal humidity level for preventing mildew/mold growth is 45% or lower, that difference means there could be those dreaded spoors still living in my sunroom. So, my advice to the manufacturer is to keep their concentration on a good product and leave the light show to others. To prospective buyers, I recommend this little dehumidifier as a good buy. Ordered this dehumidifier because of the 850-950 sq ft claim. Here's my experience: 1. The dehumidifier is a Peltier type which I was not familiar with until it arrived and I started doing research on it. It works on the basis of a thermoelectric cooler (solid state semiconductor). This type is energy efficient but is well-known for not being capable of handing larger spaces or very humid environments. Relative to a refrigerant/condenser drier, it takes a longer time and is probably best for locations like closets. 2. I used this for 24 hours in a room of about 600 sq ft and with about 60-70% humidity. At the end of the period, there was perhaps half a pint of water in the bucket and the room humidity had not budged. A refrigerant/condenser version placed in the same room over the same period had to be emptied twice of about one gallon of water each time and brought the humidity level to the upper forties. 3. Because I am not interested in dehumidifying a closet, I am no longer using this drier and cannot see using it in the future. In sum, 3 stars for probable use in closets or other small spaces. ... show more

Bought this for our bathroom here in Florida. We run this all day and half the night to help prevent mold in our shower. Even with the A/C running 24/7 it still draws the humidity in,I usually empty it once a day. Fills about 1/4 full.

I can't imagine the universe where this tiny thing makes a noticeable difference in 950 ft². It is sleek & it is quiet, but only bc it's just slightly larger than a loaf of white bread. Might be helpful in a bedroom. Will be returning.
