It’s effective in spaces up to 1000 sq. ft., making it perfect for basements, bathrooms, or bedrooms. This machine has lived primarily in our bathroom as we are having a mold issue in the bathroom window. What I liked the most about this model was its ability to have a continuous drain where the hose is a nice feature if you want to avoid manual emptying. This has proven to be a very effective dehumidifier for my average-size home. When humidity levels hit 92%, I felt it wise to invest in a dehumidifier, something I've never owned in my life. This fairly compact unit (I put a coffee mug in front of it in one photo to give a sense of scale) fits conveniently almost anywhere. It runs on 120, so you can place it almost anywhere and run it free from distraction. In my case, I'm running it in my basement. Within a few hours there was a noticeable drop in the humidity levels. The dehumidifier offers two options when it comes to draining: a hose you can attach (included), or manually empty the collection tank. To date I have not used the hose option since no drains are to be found in the area where I'm running the machine. Not only that, by using the collection tank, the water can be collected and repurposed (watering plants, etc). While I haven't conducted a scientific study, my estimates suggest this uses roughly the same amount electricity as running two light bulbs. It won't put a significant dent in your electric bill. Nice Dehumidifier, about the size of a small garbage pail. Compact and easy to use. Lights up red if the water bucket is not in place. This will do great come summer time when it’s very humid inside. The best part is I don’t have to constantly empty the trap, it has a hose to attach to a 5gallon bucket and really should only need to be checked on once a day or every 2 days. I bought this dehumidifier to use in the bathroom to avoid having the mirror foggy, and it works very well. It removes the humidity very well and it is very silent. It is one of the smallest dehumidifiers that I have seen, I can put it over the bathroom sink. I purchased this dehumidifier as a supplement to another larger unit I have running in my basement, as we plan to create a storage room down there and wanted a separate dehumidifier. I was so pleasantly surprised with this little dehumidifier. Not only is it powerful and effective (I noticed a difference in a matter of hours running it in the basement), but it’s also sleek, compact and looks nice - nothing like the typical huge, bulky units. I really appreciate the optional drain hose, as it eliminates the hassle of having to empty the tank, however, it is nice to have the tank as an option for anyone who doesn’t have a spot to run the hose. This is a small dehumidifier that is very simple and easy to use. There are just three buttons and one of them is a defrost option and one of them is sleep mode. An added bonus feature is that there is a light in the bottom corner that has seven different colors. You can either set the color to the one you like or have it rotate through the different colors. The water container is small, but this is a very small dehumidifier, so it is best to use the drainage cord so you can set it up next to a drain. This product was very easy to use and doesn’t take up a lot of room.
