    • Great Blade/Housing, But Costs More Than Cricut Brand Replacements

I installed my Ovan replacement housing & blade on my Cricut Maker 3 back in February. I've used it for over 2 months on a dozen or so projects involving cardstock, HTV, and vinyl. Installation is no different than a Cricut brand blade. Simply took the old one out and replaced with the new one. Fitment was perfect in my Cricut Maker 3. In terms of performance, I'm still on my 1st of 2 blades that come with the housing. It does a great job with fine detail cuts. The Ovan housing & blades are priced slightly higher ($2 more) than a Cricut brand housing/blade, but you do get an extra blade with the Ovan kit. For the spend, I'd just as soon go with the Cricut brand and save the money. If they lower the cost a bit, to where you can save some money, Ovan would be the way to go. I got this deep point blade for my Cricut Maker 3 to cut thin leather for bookmark making. Most of my leather is right around 1mm thick and this deep point blade does a great job getting through it with the leather setting in Cricut Design Space.
