The actual bar was thicker than I expected since i've purchased the shorter version of this product for my living room windows & the rod was much thiner in that case. It makes sense as it's a longer set & seems very sturdy. Mounting brackets (three brackets) & screws are included. The reason i'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mounting brackets have bit of a design flaw. The design is a little off, the curve of the bar makes it difficult to use any size screw driver (I even tried a tiny one!) or a power tool during install for the top of the mounting bracket, although the lower screw driver hole is unobstructed & does not have that issue. The mounting brackets are attractive & match the set, the curvature just comes up high enough to give you minimal room to try to install. It forces you to drive the screw in at a bit of an angle but that's not the end of the world. Poor design but it's still functional and can be done. I'm a twenty-something woman with minimal experience in this sort of thing. I like to think of myself as pretty capable, it's not hard to do, just being upfront about my experience & the design of the bracket. I've seen other reviewers complain about this but it does not make the brackets included unusable. Drive them in at a bit of an angle & you'll be fine, they still hold up fine. I certainly didn't expect perfection for the price, anybody would be naïve to think that they would expect superior quality and design for a product at this price. The only issue I could foresee is if you're having to drive through a stud which I did not have to do. Even then, if you had to buy another bracket set, the rod itself is just fine! The rod itself is thick & nice. It feels heavy & sturdy, also slides well to expand the size, which worked perfectly for me! It's used over a set of sliding doors to my backyard to help block out sun to insulate the room from the sun streaming in. Since it's to our backyard, the curtains get drawn and opened a dozen times a day to let our dogs out. We have four dogs, two large (Pit/Lab mix & a Husky mix) & two small (dachshunds) who jump on the curtain, consequently putting weight & pressure on the rod, but the rod has held up great for this! We've had it up for about two weeks now with absolutely zero issues. Overall i'm very pleased with the purchase, although the design of the mounting bracket isn't ideal, it still holds up fine & you can't tell the difference once it's completely installed. I would definitely recommend it despite the brackets being imperfect, it's a great deal & quality for the price. You get what you pay for & despite the brackets, I think it's very high quality for what I paid! ... show more

I love these beautiful curtain rods so much. I have purchased roughly 10 of them for my house. They are very sturdy. They hold in place and don't move when you open and close even heavy drapes. Very reasonably priced for such a nice quality rod. You won't be disappointed.

This review is for the Decopolitan 1-inch urn rod for 72-144 inch spans. I got these to install curtains on a 120 inch span window. I like them and will be purchasing again. Would rate 4.5 stars if I could. - it took me about an hour to install it, a lot of the time spent measuring and making sure it was level. - came with 1-inch screws. - came with 3 brackets. - came with rubber end caps in addition to the urn-shaped end. So if you don't like the urn design, you can just use the end caps. - like everyone else said, it was a bit of a pain to install the screws because of the bracket design. I had to drill the top screw in at a slight angle. - when installing, drill pilot holes first; this makes it a lot easier. - after installed, the rod is about 3.5 inches away from the wall (see pic). - I am using these with "Best Home Fashion Wide Width Thermal Insulated Blackout Curtain"; I am using two of the 100x84 inches curtains on the one rod (see pic). - it comes in three pieces - two "thick" rods and one "thin" rod". You slide the thin rod into the thicker rods to adjust the length. This is why I docked a star; when you slide it in and out, there is a lot of play the longer you make it (so the longer you make it, the more the thinner rod "jiggles"), although once I tightened the set screws, this didn't seem too bad of an issue; the thinner rod is not very flush with thicker rod, and when opening/closing the curtain, the curtain loop may get lightly snagged on where the thinner rod slides into the thicker rod. I've had them up for a day now. For this length at $30, it was about half the cost compared to brick and mortar stores. I initially tried to make my own curtain rods using emt conduit (google diy curtain rod), but that turned out to be a pain to paint because it is galvanized. Anyway, IMHO these are good rods for the price. Will update again after I've used them some more. ... show more
