  • These are the real deal
Same thing you'd buy at the big box stores but a little cheaper. They're the real deal and worked perfectly

  • Very happy
Installed our first one probably 5 years ago and were very happy with it. Recently moved and began to install wall mount TV so I specifically searched out this same unit again. Install is as straightforward as it gets and everything needed is included (unless you plan to use the keystone holes, then you'll need to buy the keystone plugs needed for your specific setup. My favorite part has been the storage space. I hate having cables snaked all over behind the TV, so its nice to have a pocket to shove the excess. ... show more

  • Good Quality
Great small box for hiding power supplies and other item behind wall mounted TV

  • Perfect for TVs with multiple devices coming thru the wall
It's a perfect box for my needs. I have 4 devices coming thru the wall along with power and ethernet cables. There's plenty of room for them as well as a surge protector power strip. The power strip plugs into the included outlet and hangs inside the wall. It looks clean and it allows the TV to be completely flushed against the wall. ... show more

  • VERY POOR engineering of a good idea
VERY POOR engineering of a good idea. All in - not worth price or time to make it work if you can easily avoid (which you hopefully will by reading this review). Specifically: - Electrical receptacle had push connects ONLY and was NOT grounded! Buy better one in hardware store to replace - Cut-out dimensions wrong. PERIOD. 7 1/2" min needed (plus some "physical persuasion") for side w/ electrical box. 7 1/8" ok for sides w/o. Do not go bigger than 7 1/2" or cut-out will likely show when fully installed. - Electrical box mounts from backside ONLY. Drop-in from front would be handier to rectify cut-out/size/fit issue above and for electric wiring). Or move location of electrical box 1/4-1/2" deeper in box (that tip is for mfg as user cannot change finished molded product received). - wall studs must be 16" OC - be careful of any king studs / corners, etc. And you must place cut-out hole correctly b/w studs (hint - not centered...). Otherwise either electrical box or "hidden storage cavity", maybe both, will have interference from stud... Extra hint - rotate box 90 degrees so electrical on top and "wall pocket" on bottom. Then only need ~ 7 1/2" clearance width-wise (assuming no vertical interference). - Buy two single gang low voltage boxes (http://amzn.to/2lhkDXO - only $1.50 at local hardware store though). Replace original's drywall wings & screws with the ones off these... Original wing screws bend/break w/ just simple hand tightening upon installation otherwise. I persevered only b/c was Saturday AM and I wanted to do the job then when I had set the time aside. Luckily I had the extra parts/supplies necessary hanging around my tool bench for other projects (and didn't want to wait a few days for Amazon Prime to deliver a better made/engineered unit). Simply, just look for a better made recessed box... ... show more

  • Know what you’re getting
This product is designed for 1/2” thick walls. This should be front and center. If you have thicker walls (e.g. wall plus shiplap, planks, stone, etc.) fitting it will be a challenge. The adjustable screws will handle the depth but you can’t actually fit the unit in the opening with the outlet attached if it’s more than 1/2” wall. Also, the snap-in box that holds a media player fits tight inside the wall, so if it’s more than 1/2” thick you can’t fit that attachment into the unit either. I eyed this up for a long time and thought it was brilliant with the cavity to store a media player. I didn’t realize the wall thing until I was committed (giant 7” square hole cut) so I had to break off the inner drywall until I could fit it all in. If I’d known this I would have selected a different option. In lieu of using the keystone plate that has 6 openings and having to buy blank covers separately I opted to use the cable hole which was a nice option to have and gives you the benefit of being able to push slack back into the wall. The electrical stuff (box and outlet) are proprietary so you have to use them. It’s stab-in only. The quality could be better, but it will work. I can fit a current model Apple TV in the box which is nice. There is also enough room in the unit itself to coil excess cable length and hide it in there. The tolerance isn’t square, you’ll have more lip to hide mess ups in one direction than the other. I’d suggest starting with a little smaller opening and increasing as you need to so it’s all hidden. I didn’t think the stud tolerance was too tight, I had no problem fitting it between two standard 16” studs. Overall this unit is OK if you have 1/2” wall. It will do the job fine. ... show more
