I bought this to make healthy low cal/carb frozen yogurt, although it took me a few try’s to get it right. 3/4cp Greek yogurt, tbl of 1/2 & 1/2 a few teaspoons of stevia and what ever flavoring I want (I use no calorie coffee syrups). I blend in a bullet blender, then taste and adjust sugar/flavor, consistency should allow it to flow (add more 1/2 & 1/2 if needed). I keep my bases in a chest freezer which is way colder than a fridge/freezer. Make sure to assemble and turn on the ice cream maker before adding the yogurt mix or it will bind. I add nuts, dark chocolate chunks or fruit bits right away to let them incorporate evenly. Once its to the consistency I like, I quickly transfer the contents to a regular bowl, otherwise it starts crystallizing. The serving size is just right for me, the consistency and flavor are great. And I can make whatever flavor I want rather than having to take what’s in the freezer. ... show more

I bought this as it had pretty good reviews. My husband and I like a bit of ice cream ocassionally but don't keep it around the house as if we have it we eat it 😂 This makes just the perfect amount of frozen goodness. I make a double batch and make them and refreeze so we each have a fun dessert on ocassion. You can also pre-mix the ingredients and it keeps in the fridge for a few days/week so you can double or triple your batch. It definatley is more of a softer serve ice cream but it is good and you can alwasys freeze it for a firmer texture. Super easy to clean and not many compontents so that is a plus! What’s nice is that the cup just has to be frozen, you dump in your ingredients, run it for 20 minutes, and the ice cream is done! You don’t need a recipe! I have tried all kinds of things. I sometimes use half and half, 2%milk, whole milk and once heavy cream. So today I used a half cup of milk. I added a spoonful of cheesecake pudding mix to it and stirred it to dissolve it. Then I popped it into the freezer for 6 minutes to get colder. I am trying NOT to gain weight so I only make a half batch for myself. It was delicious!!!!! Sometimes I add chocolate sauce or use a spoonful of Junket ice cream mix. I get it at my grocery store for $2.50. I add enough to sweeten it like the pudding mix. I don’t cook anything or use eggs or vanilla and don’t like really sweet ice cream. I no longer use the heavy cream or whole milk. I don’t want to get fat! But I can’t wait to make it every day unfortunately. I figure that if I have it for breakfast I can wear off done calories. This thing is amazing. Don’t make yourself crazy looking for recipes or buying expensive ingredients. Keep it simple. This morning I added sliced banana and a little chocolate sauce. BTW the dress on I put the mixture in the freezer for a few minutes is because otherwise it might not be firm enough for you. It comes out perfect! ... show more

This thing is not great. You definitely have to freeze the mix that comes out after 20 min of mixing in this mug. It is liquid. Nowhere near frozen ice cream. I read reviews of this prior to purchase and had concerns about the ability to chill anything into ice cream. However I think it may be poor effort on those individuals part. I keep a cup in the freezer until ready to use. I aim to have the mixture i’m making into ice cream cold before putting in the cup. I put the top on and let it work for about 20 min and am very happy with the result. If you want rock hard ice cream, then this isn’t for you, but fresh soft serve like homemade ice cream usually is..it’s great. I bought this to make faux ice cream as an alternative for health reasons and think it’s great. Enough ice cream for 1-2 servings and satisfies a sweet tooth craving. ... show more

So purchased this instead of another famous brand due to price point. I read reviews prior they were great so I bought it. If you know anything about ice cream making it’s a process!! It comes with a recipe book but I choose to find a two main product process. Please be sure to freeze as directed and have all ingredients ready upon taking it out freezer. Motor is very slow but this is needed to help the liquids that must be cold also mix well. As it takes about 30 plus min you also have to re freeze in mug for it to solidify unless you want soft serve. I did notice the longer you leave it out around another 30 min after mixing the bottom of my ice cream actually becomes less manipulated and too very soft serve.
