  • Great but takes 10 -12 minutes
Color: Black Style: Maker
I bought this as a great option dor making egg bites for meal prep and eggs for my bagels. I thought it might be nice for my kid to use without using the stove. The isea is great, it stores easily due to size. The only thing is that it fake 10-12 minutes to cook and egg batch. When there are 4+ members, thats 40+minutes for 4 batches of eggs. This is great for cooking at your desk, or a 10 ish year old whom in yiur best judgment can work appliances like this but your not comfortable with them on the stove. Good purchase still, just not quite what I hoped. It did clean up easily. ... show more

  • Cute
Color: Aqua Style: Maker
It’s a cute product a bit if a learning curve but had it down after one batch I haven’t masters how to freeze these without them being tasteless or soggy so I would only eat them immediately after making them or refrigerate and eat within a day or two. Comes with nice little cooking book with a few recipes and it’s a small gadget you can stow away when not in use. I got the light greenish color it’s super cute ... show more

  • Does what it says
Color: Aqua Style: Maker
I ordered the mini one that cooks four at a time or one big one. I like it as it is easy to store and doesn’t take up more of my counter space. It does what it is advertised to do. But I wish it could cook a bit faster. It takes about 11-12 mins to do one batch. But the egg bites do come out good and you can be creative in what you decide to add to the ingredients. Makes healthy bites for on-the-go and/or breakfast snacks. ... show more

  • Also a great sandwich maker
Color: Black Style: Maker
I mainly purchased for the large silicone cup to make breakfast egg sandwiches. I tried the 4 little silicone cups as well. They are not really all that non-stick. I found better to crack 2 to 4 eggs in the dash and cook for about 5-8 min. I butter surface sometimes for flavor and add chopped jalapeno, onions, cheese to the eggs. Depending how many eggs I use I sometimes flip the egg patty to cook other side since top cover doesn't touch food enough while cooking. Once done it's a nice square egg 'omelette' that fits perfect on bread. Then I finish the egg sandwich in the Dash for several minutes so that the bread is evenly toasted. This is also for grilled cheese, ham sandwich with cheese etc... I wish the Dash had removable plates to clean better and deeper well for thicker items to cook. I did purchase the newest Bruno single sandwich maker. This one had removable plates, didn't toast bread as evenly and pricey but had a deeper well to cook thicker items and sandwiches. I use both depending on what I am cooking. I can easily make these items on the stove in my cast iron pan but I would have to monitor and when I feel 'lazy' I use the Dash and it's easier to clean. With the Dash it cycles on and off when cooking and I never had problem with burning or overheating...so never had to stand there to constantly to check on it. I just unplug to turn it off. I like that this Dash is 420 watts so that it works with my Jackery for road trips...very portable than my DeLonghi panni grill maker. ... show more

  • I have mixed feelings
Color: Red Style: Maker
My one complaint about this is when I whip the eggs, then put in the cups & close the lid, the eggs rise like a great souffle, the tops brown against the inside lid of the unit, then when taken out & cooled, the eggs shrink back down to less than 1/2 their height. My problem is I do not like crunchy eggs, so I do not like that they brown on the top. I noticed if I just drop the egg in without all the mixing & scrambling, they do not rise nearly as much, therefore do not brown on top. I can do this with the larger cup to put on an english muffin for a sandwich, but is much harder to do with the egg bites because the cups are too small for 1 whole egg, and it is difficult to separate the egg into several cups unless it is scrambled. So I have been using just the larger size, and don't use it for the smaller egg bites anymore. ... show more

  • Fabulous invention, but don't use distilled water in it!
Color: Aqua Style: Maker
I LOVE this egg-bite maker and it makes a great gift for anyone starting a Keto diet. But I learned, the first time I used it, that you CANNOT use distilled water for the water they tell you to pour into the cooker. It seemed logical to use distilled water, to keep the cooker from getting a mineral crust over time, since we have hard water. But distilled water takes a significantly higher temperature to create steam. The instruction booklet says the eggs are ready when the water has vaporized away, but I kept opening the unit--after the expected 10-12-minute cooking time--and there was the same amount of water in the unit that I started with, even after 17 minutes. The eggs were clearly cooked, so I took them out. This does not detract from the five stars, because it's just science, not a defect in the unit. But I hope that the next time Dash updates its instruction booklet, they will add this fact! Surely I am not the only customer who has other appliances--aroma diffusers and humidifiers--that do better with distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. But for the egg bite maker, use regular tap or bottled water -- not distilled! The egg bites come out delicious and great for Keto. I used chopped green onion, sharp, grated cheddar, and a pinch of Aleppo pepper for mine. Make them in the morning and take them to work for lunch or snacks. Two more pieces of advice -- again, these do not detract from my five-star opinion of the results, but are good to know: The instruction booklet says the one large tray holds "two large eggs," and the same is true when divided among the 4 small trays. But that means without any additional ingredients piled in! So if you crack two eggs, but then add grated cheese, onions, bacon, parsley, or anything else, you are going to have more filling that is needed to fill the cups 2-thirds full, which is what they tell you to do. (If you fill all the way to the brim, the eggs expand during cooking and might overflow their little trays.) I don't want to have any filling left over, because I don't have time before work for a second round of cooking. I only have time for "one and done!" And beaten eggs don't save well, and I don't want to toss out expensive organic eggs. So if you don't want to wind up having to choose between tossing the extra and waiting through a second round of cooking, use only ONE egg and combine with nice fillings like chopped green onion, chopped pimento, crumbled feta, whatever. That way, you use up your "batter" in one cycle. Second piece of advice is to use oven mitts that have fingers: My first time, when I used our big, unwieldy "mitten" hot mitts, I did not have enough "dexterity" to easily lift the little trays out of the hot cooker. Next time, I used gloves with fingers (fabric yard gloves will work), and did just fine! Sorry for the long review, but this little cooker is a real treasure, very versatile, and worth the reasonable price. Just learn from my experience about the water, the amount of egg, and the type of gloves you want to use to lift them out. Enjoy! ... show more
