It looks great when done in your tub, a click tub button to stop the water dranage, and click to un-plug. Drains great!. To install, I grabbed the copper drain adapter and hand spun it in, and then put the proper amount of plumbers putty on the under-side of the finish piece so water wouldn't leak past it and whah - lah! Done. Very simple to install. And remember don't over tighten it or they will break. But I highly recommend this if you want to refresh your bath to look close to new. lol ... show more

Product was easy to install after I finally got my old drain removed (After bending a pair of pliers trying to remove the 40+ year old one, I broke down and bought the tool actually used to remove one). It comes with adapters for different size drain pipes, but I did not need them. Put a little plumbers putty above the threads before screwing it into the tub to provide a good waterproof seal. Waited a day before I took a shower or bath and so far after almost two months it is working and looking great! ... show more

This was used to replace an old chrome setup. More than anything, the old drain was difficult to remove, but I was able to get the old components removed. This kit has everything you need to update your current trim. The push-button feels a little cheap and plastic, but has functioned well so far. I read several other reviews and noted to avoid over-tightening any of the components that felt plastic (I think it’s just the push-button component). You have to be sure and thread the rubber gasket down in between the bottom of your tub and the drain plumbing, this isn’t well-explained in the directions. Overall, it’s a nice product; for this price, it’s a great deal. I would give a perfect 5 star for something that was made of higher-quality materials, but this drain is working well so far after about a month. ... show more

I've probably installed at least 100 of these in homes and have always purchased them on my account at one of the big box stores and don't know why I've never checked Amazon for them. These are the exact same ones I've always purchased at the big box retailer (same brand, model#, etc).. but here on Amazon they're 27% cheaper. Other than the price, what I like about these is they come with the single hole overflow plate. The good thing about the single hole is that they can be used on single and dual threaded overflows. There's an included adapter plate to use it on the dual threaded overflow pipes. It doesn't work the other way.. a 2-hole overflow plate does not have an adapter to use it on a 1-hole overflow pipe. Second, it comes with a plastic adapter for use with either the 1-1/2" (16 tpi thread) or 1-7/8 (11.5 tpi thread) drain shoes. Some people prefer the metal adapters but if you've ever had to cut out a corroded adapter you'll appreciate it being plastic instead of brass. This comes with the flanged drain body, the adapter sleeve, the sealing gasket for under the tub, the pop up stopper, the overflow plate, the adapter plate for the overflow plate if you have a 2-hole pipe and the screw to secure the overflow plate. From someone that's installed over 100 of these and never having to replace even one because it stopped working I can wholeheartedly recommend these. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Removed the previous chrome one that was 30 years old to replace it with this nickel one. It hasn’t been a year yet and it’s ready for replacement. The stopper is plastic with a coating on which scratches off relatively easy. The worst part however is that it consistently returns to a wobbly/loose state (see video). Simply turning it clockwise doesn’t fix the issue - you have to remove it completely and re-adjust the pieces to get it to sit correctly again. The stopper is plastic junk been installed for about a month. Plastic threads already stripped witch makes it useless. Come on you can do better than that

My husband installed this drain to replace an ancient brass one in our master tub. The only trouble he had was getting the old one out, however the instructions that came with this item were very helpful. The drain we replaced was a twist type with a narrow knob that stuck out. So if you accidentally stepped or, God forbid, sat on it you were in for some serious pain. The part of this new drain that sticks up is so much wider impending pain is no longer an issue. As I get older I really appreciate not having to bend down into our very deep tub to open and close the drain. A soft (but not too soft) push of my toe works perfectly.
