This is an awesome product. The universal hdwr it comes with wouldn’t work for my application(I knew this at purchase), so I fabricated my own parts. Went together very easily. Soon as I was done mounting the awning, I opened up the cover and set it up in like 2 minutes. Legs and bracing are light weight aluminum with adjustable legs that lock in place with a slight twist. Awning has mold on it (package was sealed super tight with packing tape - obviously a repackaged item). The aluminum rail that the awning is attached to is bent making it hard to get the poles to extend. It appears to be a refurbished product with scratches everywhere. This item is inaccurately described as “ retractable” which is the reason why I bought it. You have to roll it out with great difficulty. I figured that I’d try to mount it to check the fit regardless. Come to find out it’s missing the “square” bolts needed to slide into the roof rack rail. It’s also missing bits and pieces here and there which cover exposed bolts that could rip the siding. The zipper bag zipper is not alignment properly and does not completely shut at the end of the bag. The zipper will be inoperable after 1-2 uses. Over all this is very flimsy and frankly dangerous to set up considering I asked my pregnant wife to try to hold the end of the awning while I got the poles out. There are a TON of sharp ends and bits and pieces of aluminum. On top of all of this…. Received my item 11 days after ordering through Amazon. Let us end on this note… the awning is moldy and dangerous. Danchel should come remove this POS because I’m done screwing with it. Red and brown mold all throughout the awning. I don’t even want to touch it. Amazon and the seller should figure this one out. ... show more

It came out better than what I expected, is solid at the attachment and hopefully staying like that till van is no more operable, I installed straight to my vantech roof racks, I did the hole in to it no to close to the main bean so I can put the nut behind an have space to set the socket or wrench, at the pictures is where I customize the way I did the holes to tie the awning up, did it using the same L shape brackets to mark where the holes need to be and bammmm , set the screws where I tough it was going to be and hook on 1 side first than move the bolts a little and hook the other put the nuts and move to other side for the other nuts and tie up all and it took me less than 30 minutes taking trash to container too lol and opening it up and set back, love it! I can used it when I'm working and is raining and I can use it when I go on my camping trips. ... show more
