    • Impressive Motor on Axles Crawler.
Well tons of people have bought this crawler and many write a good reviewof it. I have to say i was extremely skeptical on this purchase of a near hobby grade motor on axle crawler. Especially at its current price point. For the price you will get one heck of a nice crawler. Its more hobby grade than youd expect. It is able to have parts replaced and upgraded to more durable materials. Even the 380 size brushed motors can be replaced by better motors. I find it to be highly worth the price asked. Its more capable than many current hobby class crawlers on the market at a third the price. But it is definitely shown me in a very short time that it can crawl like my more expensive crawlers from axial. And it usually can crawl the more difficult lines easier the first run. Very pleased overall with this crawler. Its durable and hasn't had any failure from falling of a rock or a steep hillside. So to me that was a big important ability about this crawler. And it comes with a small lithium 2 cell battery that gets you about 45 minutes of actual running time. Which is pretty nice to have. And a usb bala3 charger. For easy recharge at home or in a car. I have run my ridge rock through the ice and snow grass an mud. And over some home made obstacles. And it has never failed me. I ran it with oversized tires (which really limited the steering) but was lots of fun in the snow. The 4 wheel steering option is my favorite (great for tight spaces) You can also select Front Steering (normal), Rear Only Steering & Crab walk. The Danchee RidgeRock is definitely not the best crawler you can buy. But it might be the Best Toy Grade Crawler on the market. It doesn't track as well as my other crawlers. And it certainly is not a competition grade crawler. But for around the yard or walking the trail it is a Blast. I had mine set up as a monster truck for a while. It was fun, but the oversized tires really limited the steering. For what it is (an affordable toy grade 1:10 scale crawler) I think it was well worth the money. ... show more

    • Way fun
I got this and the Ridge Runner at the same time. This has larger tires and is a little higher on the body sides. It offers an amazing value if you have always wanted to try crawling. The 4 wheel steering Is the true star of the show, and allows you to get in and out of tight spaces and really conquer just about any terrain. The tires are decent for what they are but would benefit from some softening (perhaps modifying the foam?). They grip well in softer mud and gravel, but seem to lose grip on smooth slippery rocks (most of my crawling is done in water worn stream beds and among glacial deposited boulders). Tires do have real bead locks which is pretty dang cool. I also think the tire do get better after spinning on rock to break them down a bit. The motor and servos are well up to the task and I never find myself wishing for more power. Battery life is about 40 mins of hard driving. Remote is comfortable and easy to understand and set up. About the only downside is the steering indicators are a bit dim in bright light and can be hard to see. I'm pretty new to crawling but not to RCs and I cannot believe I didn't get this years ago. I have more fun climbing rocks and such than I do ripping and bashing my other cars. To me this is the true off road RC adventure! If you like the challenge of picking a line and trying to make it work, than give this amazing machine a go. If you like it, the upgrades available for this are mind boggling, and if you don't find the thrill, then you have not invested a ton and are able to resell it for minimal (if any) lose. ... show more
