  • Great wheelchair for inside your home!
Style: Standard
My wife broke her ankle during our vacation in Costa Rica. Fortunately, we found an excellent surgeon - and everything went well. After we returned, however, maneuvering around the house with a heavy boot - and "no pressure" on one leg was a big challenge! Regular wheelchairs don't fit through standard residential doorways. So I searched for a solution online - and fortunately found your Flux Slimline Daily Living product. I picked it up yesterday and my wife loves it! The Flux Slimline fits easily through all of our doorways, and is easy and stable to get in and out of. A photo is attached. I have a technical background and was concerned about the design and quality of the Flux Slimline - based on some of the reviews on Amazon's site. Now that I have seen the Flux Slimline first hand, I know it is well made: > The frame, adjustable seat mount and brake fittings are well designed, with quality materials. The welds, paint and finish are excellent. > The Flux Slimline is light and maneuvers easily on wood floors and carpets. > The brakes are solid and effective. > Even though the Flux is narrower than a standard wheelchair, the innovative design allows the seat and backrest to be fairly wide. I am 5' 10", 200 lbs, and the Flux Slimline fit me just as well as my 5' 2" wife; and the adjustable seat is comfortable. > The Flux looks sharp too - without the 'hospital' appearance of a standard wheelchair. In short, if you need a wheelchair inside your home for a person of average size, this is a great solution. Highly recommended. Mark Hays ... show more

  • Updated!!! A huge disappointment for us.
Style: Standard
UPDATED!!!! I’ve contacted Troy Technology several times to discuss alternatives and the only response has been one that has no solution, just a comment about our intelligence in operating the wheelchair, which doesn’t address the problems. I will not be recommending or purchasing from them again unless an agreement is made!!! I purchased this wheelchair for my 82 year old mother in law whom is a bilateral leg amputee (no legs). So, it works great as far as getting through doorways, its slim enough for that purpose. It has a nice feature of the seat height being adjustable. The problem is that she has to be able to transfer from the chair to the potty, bed and couch, etc. To do this, the seat height has to be in the right position, which she cannot adjust on her own and if we leave it up in a high position to accommodate most scenarios, she has a hard time reaching the wheels to roll herself around. The wheels are significantly smaller than a normal chair. So, she can only roll herself about 4 inches at a time. When she has to go to the potty, she has to think ahead and start her journey early to get there on time. She also says the arm rests are too high for her to use comfortably when transferring back and forth. They aren’t adjustable. The seat also is spring loaded so it can tilt back like an office chair and even with the knob completely tightened, it still rocks when she is rolling it. I scoured the internet looking for a wheelchair to help us and thought this was the one so I paid $599.99 plus an additional $424.49 shipping just to get it in time for her to have it when she came back home. This was a huge disappointment. So much that after a month, I’ve had to go and buy another wheelchair to meet her needs and make her more comfortable when performing her other tasks. Like I said, this chair might be fine for some but in our case, not so much and for the price of over $1024 just to use it for a month, I should’ve never had to go and look for another chair. Think about it because I’m out of this money of my own, it wasn’t paid for by insurance. ... show more

  • As advertised
Style: Standard
Was as advertised. Well-constructed and fairly easy to assemble as the instructions were for two different models. I feel it was a bit pricy however if your doorways are 22 inches wide it is certainly cheaper than a renovation.

  • Very poor choice for carpet and an excellent choice for hardwood floors.
Style: Standard
As many people have said, this wheelchair on carpet is very hard to roll. I would not recommend this if you have carpeting. If you have hard surface floors it is fabulous. Because of the ability to raise the seat with the handle like an office chair, it can be used while at the kitchen sink, cutting vegetables or even in the laundry room. It is much narrower than regular wheelchairs and because of this, it is it is very easy to maneuver around the kitchen, go to the bathroom, going to the pantry, etc. Very well built ... show more
