  • Put the shine and thickness back into my brittle blonde hair
Scent: Amla Size: 16.9 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I had my hair dyed from Light blonde to dark brown at a salon and I am not sure if it was the dye process or what by my hair was horribly straw dry and brittle/breaking. I decided after a month to get a shorter long pixie style cut and dyed my hair back to blonde. I knew going back to blonde on already over processed hair would make my hair even worse but I really didn't like the brown. (anyway) a friend of mine recommended this product to help my dry itchy hair. I was afraid at first because I was warned the smell is not the most pleasant. I have to say if you can get past the smell this stuff will cure many hair aliments including dandruff, dry hair and breaking hair but use as directed. What I liked: The oil is dark but did not turn my almost white hair green or darker. The directions state to keep the oil on for one hour and wash out. Because of the state of my hair I left it on over night using it the first time. I would recommend wearing a hair cap if you do this because the oil will get on your pillows. - After washing the oil out and blow drying my hair my hair I was very pleased and very happy with the results my hair was baby hair soft, anyone who has bleached or colored their hair knows that straw feeling your hair gets. This stuff took it away and somehow made my hair appear fuller. Also my hair stopped falling out I used to have strands of hair everywhere and an itchy scalp, this took the itch out of my scalp and I notice I don't have so much hair in the drain after using this for about 1 week. You really only need to leave it on for an hour as stated on back to get the full impact. The one con is the smell but you do get used to it. In my opinion it smells almost like a light gasoline smell or rubbery smell, it is not so bad that I can't stand it but I can see why others don't want to use it. I found that if you shampoo your hair with a good shampoo the smell does go away after words. This product is really the best oil I've ever used and since using it have received many compliments on how "great" "healthy" my hair looks so I would rather deal with a funny smelling head for an hour then hair falling out. ... show more

  • Love this oil!
Scent: Amla Size: 16.9 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I have been using this product for about a month now and I can tell a tremendous difference from before. What it did for me was that it made my hair thicker and super soft. I have normal hair, its kind of wavy, and it made it less frizzy. It gave it more shine as well, and a big thing that made me love this product was that my hair did grow faster. I love that my hair looks healthy too, and feels much stronger. I'm glad I didn't listen to other reviews about it "stinking." Yes, it has a distinct scent, but it didnt make me sick and after a couple of uses I got used to it. The way I use it is that I use it every other day. I massage it on my scalp and get it on all my hair. Afterwards, I put on a plastic shower cap and leave it on overnight. On the instructions on the box it says that ideally an hour, but I do it overnight. If you leave it in overnight, just make sure that you place a towel where you sleep because this stuff can stain! I then wash it out when I wake up with sulfate-free shampoo and use coconut oil as a conditioner. People just can't stop commenting on and touching my hair! That's probably the only con :) but I loved that I saw growth and less hair fall. It's embarrassing as a 22 year old woman when on my hairline there was a spot with hardly any hair so I've had to comb it to the left and get bangs, but since I started using the amla oil, so much hair has grown! My hairline is great, and I don't have to be ashamed of pulling all my hair back now! This is really a miracle product and I will buy again. I would recommend this product to people with darker hair since it says on the box that its not for lighter shades. ... show more

  • Product works, but smells
Scent: Amla Size: 16.9 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This works, but wish I could tolerate the scent. My natural hair is so soft and straighter, but I am afraid to hug people because of the smell. Any recommendations on how I can decrease the scent? Would love to use this more, but will only use right before ‘wash day’.

  • Love this stuff...
Scent: Amla Size: 16.9 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This product will not stop hair loss although it may say so. This just conditions your hair to be more elastic and smooth. Lessen the breakage of hair...it also makes hair appear slightly darker in colour. Who knows why hair falls out. Hereditary issues, vitamin deficiency, hormones and my favourite !!!STRESS!!!. Im indo guyanese with wavy frizzy hair naturally. This works to tame my hair...you oil the hair thoroughly top to bottom. Leave on 1hr to overnight. I leave for 3-4hrs and wash my scalp well with a really cleansing shampoo and condition as usual. I noticed people complaining about the scent. Its a medicinal oil smell, indian gooseberries...i dont think its that bad...for me it works. I havent cut or trimmed my hair in over 2 years and it doesnt have split ends or looks dried out. I think for anything to work you need consistency.... I wash and oil my hair 2x a week in the summer/ sweaty months and 1x a week in the colder months. If anyones interested in other indian hair oils... Ill break them down for you Vakita Cactus oil smells amazing and it heavy weight its meant to be used before shampooing. But you can use a few drops on dry hair to tame. Vatika Black seed oil smells great and can used as a leave in after your hair is dry to tame frizzies Vatika Garlic oil smells sooo good like lemon and rosemary , heavy weighted and can be used before shampooing. And after a few drops on dry to fight the frizzies. Mahabhringraj hair oil is a medicinal oil you use only on the scalp to help with dandruff. You must wash it out. Navratna oil is for cooling and tingling of the scalp..meant to help with waking up the scalp. Must be washed out. Ive used all these oils and they all have their benefits. You can mix them as you like. I use mahabhringraj oil on my scalp for dandruff and the rest of the hair gets amla, garlic, cactus depending on my mood... Im going to tell you the best indian hair advice I know to growing out your hair....oil it faithfully & always keep your hair secured ...like in a bun with spiral bobby pins or an octopus clip or a braid with no tangle bands. It shouldnt be too tight, but firm. Its keeps hair from snarling and breaking. I know its not superstylish but it really does save your hair especially if your going to grow it out to your mid back or to a longer length and beyond . And when you do wear it out on occasion all the girls and boys will envy your soft gorgeous long hair... Ps in the pic my hair is oiled and awaiting its shampooing plus i like this pose reminds me of a troll doll. ... show more
