  • BEST CLARINET REEDS FOR ME!
Size: Strength 4.0
I was VERY skeptical about trying yet ANOTHER brand of reeds when my private instructor brought it up, I've had such bad luck with duds, wrong sized facings, and just reeds that didn't play well for me. These reeds, however, are wonderful. Every box I've purchased has been great, I've been using them for almost 3 years and I've had only 3-4 duds total, and that's saying something since I am a college music major so I play my instrument a LOT (and go through a LOT of reeds!) I highly recommend these as a step up from typical reeds (Rico, Vandoren, etc.)! ... show more

  • Kid Approved for Yamaha Clarinet
Size: Strength 3.0
My son plays the clarinet and he likes these reeds. Every time he is down to his last one, we place an order for a new pack. They last just as long as the ones that came with the Clarinet.

  • Reeds
Size: Strength 3.5
I bought these reeds a while back and as a beginner I would not recommend these. For me personally it was kind of hard to play with because I wasn’t ready for a 3.5 reed so if your not ready for a 3.5 then don’t buy if you are ready for a 3.5 then I will definitely recommend. (Also it’s best to ask your band instructor if they think it’s time for a new reed!!) ... show more

  • surprisingly good reed. i'm someone who hasn't played in 30 years...
Size: Strength 2.5
I hadn't played my clarinet since elementary school. I recently got my clarinet out only to discover that I had no reeds or cork grease in my case (probably a good thing--I hate to think of what shape they'd be in after 30 years). Since there is no musical instrument store locally, I went through Amazon to purchase my reeds. I purchased these Mitchell Lurie Premium reeds based on their low price, plus the fact that I could purchase cork grease from the same company at the same time. As I recall, I paid $1.25 per bamboo reed in 1970, so I was surprised that the price for good reeds had not escalated over the years. [Cork grease, on the other hand...] I was expecting these reeds to be plastic so was pleasantly surprised to find that these reeds are bamboo and seemingly of good quality. Strength 2.5 might be a little stiff for an 'Age 11 Beginner Who Has Just Picked Up Her Clarinet for the First time in 30 Years'--but, hey, who's listening to me play other than me? Even after 30 years I still remember the basic ABC finger scale. You know, it's kind of like riding a bicycle--you never forget how. But What I need now is a book with easy songs to play and explanations on how, for People Who Have Not Touched Their Clarinet For 30 Years and Don't Remember What To Do With All Those Other Keys. I don't want to hire a music teacher--after all, I'm not being sought out by a jazz band for my talent, so there's no monetary future in it. I can't justify the cost of clarinet lessons since I'd just be playing by myself. I'm not even talented enough for a group that's gathering just for fun. So if anyone out there knows of a good self-tutorial book on the clarinet for someone like me, who's picked the clarinet up again after 30 years just for fun, please let me know the name of the book. ... show more

  • Great for jazz
Size: Strength 2.5
I have been playing clarinet for almost 25 years and these reeds have great consistency (when compared to vandoren) they are nice and thin I prefer the filed premium ones... makes it easy to bend notes so great for jazz and good for beginners to learn proper embouchure for correct tones

Size: Strength 4.0
I've played all sorts of clarinet reeds and I find these among the most consistent and full toned.
