With minimal overall pressure every string rings clear, clean, and in tune. The Pro Plus is designed to function perfectly on virtually all guitars, including flat fingerboard classical guitars, all the way to vintage electrics with a 7” fretboard radius. Available in Black and Silver. " D'Addario promises to be the most innovative professional musician’s tools available. Our diverse capo line is no exception. Many of our groundbreaking models are the result of a productive joint effort between famed designer Ned Steinberger and Jim D’Addario. • Sleek, super lightweight, guitar stays in tune
Color: Black
I've been playing a guitar with a capo for 45 years. From the old ones with the elastic bands to shubb, keyser, G7th (original, newport and most recently performance 3), Thalia, you name it. I always went back to my original D'addario NS. The origina lG7th was a good idea but was very heavy and bulky and it got in the way of some of the chords I played. I'm always looking to up my capo game and thought I would try the G7th performance 3 with ART technology. WHile it is fast to change and does not throw the guitar out of tune, it was even heavier and bulkier than the original. The deal breaker is the front part that capoes the strings is too short to capo past the 7th fret on my guitar. I then saw that D'addario came out with a new one thay had a softer material and did not throw the guitar out of tune, not that the original one did although I did have to tighten it more than this one. I got it, and it is my new go-to capo. Sleek, light as a feather, does not throw guitar out of tune and can be parked on the headstock (I put an adhesive silicone spacer on the back of the headstock to make it so you don't have to turn the knob so many times to do it, see picture) and the front part is long enough you could capo the 12thr fret if you wanted. This would work on 12 string, classical, pretty much any guitar. No, it's not as fast as a keyser or G7th, but what is 5 more seconds? Like mousetraps, sometimes simpler is better. ... show more

  • Simple, Unobstrusive, Strings Stay In Tune

Great capo. Simple, easy to use, doesn't get in the way when you play.

  • Best capo for the money.
Color: Black
Didn’t cost an arm and a leg, but it works well for electric guitars.

  • Really excellent
Color: Black
I hadn’t used a capo ever. I found a YouTube video that recommended these and they worked great. My musician friend who normally plays jazz asked if I liked and and when I told him of my experience he also purchased one. He says it works as intended for the gigs he does.

  • Great capo, minor improvements from original, overpriced
Color: White
I've been a great fan of this capo since it was the original Planet Waves NS Pro capo several years back before D'Addario bought them out. The first thing D'Addario did on their subsequent version was to make the to fretting blade thinner and I didn't like that at all. Then I saw this one and I could see that they made the top blade thick again which is good and they added the new fretting material which supposedly conforms better to different radius fretboards due to the spongier material. It does seem to work well although I wonder if this new material will hold up as long as the hard rubber of the original. But other than the new material the capo is pretty much exactly the same as the original. Based on this I don't think the price at double the original is worth it. Even at $30 though it's a great capo and maybe the price will come down once the shiny new and improved wears off. I'll give 4 stars since it's still a great capo and works well but I think it's overpriced at $30. ... show more

  • Works great on every guitar I tried
Color: Black
I have four acoustics and one electric guitar, and two of the acoustic guitars are 12 string. This capo worked on all of them. It takes a few seconds to tighten down, but it will not budge once you have done so. However, if you are looking for a capo that can be moved from fret to fret quickly, this model will not do that. You have to loosen the screw before it can be moved. ... show more

  • Adjustable tension you can park on the headstock.
Color: Black
I've used Kyser and Shubb capos for years, The Kyser has a tendency to pull a 6-sring guitar a little out of tune, but for back-porch hootenannies, it's convenient to park it on the headstock for quick access. The Shubb is better for controlling tuning, but there's just no way to keep it handy when you need it. I just got my first 12-string, and even the Shubb pulled it out of tune more than I like. The Kyser 12-string model was just HORRIBLE as far as tuning. This D'Addario, however, is the best of both. It can park on the headstock (although, because you have to twist the thumbscrew so much to close it that far, it's a tiny bit less convenient than the Kyser). The thumb screw gives you lots of flexibility to put just the right amount of pressure on the strings, and the rubber that caresses the strings is firm but supple, letting the different sizes of strings "adjust" to that pressure with less tuning loss. It's a little more expensive, but overall, it's the only capo I'll ever use on a 12-string, and I'll probably get more for the other guitars, too. ... show more
