  • Best Strings Ever!
Style: Long Scale Size: Custom Light, 45-105
These are by far the best strings I’ve ever used! They have been on my bass guitar for 2 months now and are still punchy and bright. The strings sound really cool when I slap the bass. Very bright on the pluck and nice punch on the low end. When I play finger pick style the strings have that nice stretchy and flexible feel like when I first put them on. Many of the other types of strings I’ve used in the past have gone dead after a couple of weeks but these are still going strong. The .045-.105 diameter of the strings are the perfect balance for me. I highly recommend these strings. You will not be disappointed. The performance is unbelievable. Oh, and the reason I mentioned about how long they have been lasting for me is because I play bass all the time at my church and practice at home every day so my guitar doesn’t just sit in the case. It’s used a lot... lol ... show more

  • 55-135 pro steels a must have
Style: Long Scale Size: Medium, 50-135 (5-String)
I started with nickel roundwound and after years of experimentation and preferring to play with a pick I never could quite get that snarly bite out of whatever string I used, just put these strings on and immediately there it was, that quality I've been chasing since I started playing bass. Probably my favorite aspect is if your bass has an active eq you can dial these in to sound like familiar nickel territory, brings the full band together much tighter than nickel in my opinion and despite being slightly more coarse (but come on, it's a bass guitar, if you're complaining about your fingers hurting than go play guitar) after a minute or so it's not really noticeable when the tone is straight up talking to you in way nickel just simply can't. Nickel shines with finger/slap players. Pro steels really shine when playing with a pick. ... show more

  • Great for metal
Style: Long Scale Size: Light, 45-130 (5-String)
These strings sounds great, I like to play metal and these are great with a compressor to give a cool clanky sound. They are very bright and would be good for other types of music as well.

  • better than the last strings I got
Style: Long Scale Size: Custom Light, 45-105
These are better than the cheap brand I got last time. They sound brighter than I thought they would.

  • BIG WOW!
Style: Long Scale Size: Medium, 50-105
With 6 basses, i burn through a lot of strings......always been pretty picky. I have always been a DR, and Markley guy, but was looking for a more cost effective alternative. I research a lot (OCD). I hate XL nickels. A lot. I gave pro steels a try. WOW!!!!! fast break in and KILLER tone!!!! Better than the DR's even!! Granted, they have only been on a few days, but for $13, who cares if I only get half the normal life i have been accustomed to! ... show more

  • Pro Steel gives the best "metal" sound.
Style: Long Scale Size: Light, 45-100
I only use Pro steels. Mind you if you're upgrading from nickel you'll have to adjust the neck to accommodate the weight. The sound is amazing.
