I've been using these strings for quite some years now and they never let me down. I do repairs on electric guitars and always put these on when doing setups, and so far I haven't got a complaint from a client. The 9-42 balanced string set I believe is the perfect sweet spot, not too light that you are pressing the strings out of tune when holding chords, and not to heavy that they interfere with string bends. The sound is also great for strings in this price point, nice balanced tone. The quality is good enough to last well into the next recommended string change, even when used on guitars with floyd rose type systems, I rarely have a broken string with rough playing. Buying the strings in quantity-packs is a money saver as well, you can't go wrong with these. Lou the guitar guy.... :) ... show more

Like night and day! Take the "E" strings, both #1 & #6. The low E sounded so much fuller and robust, with no quiver or noise, just a full, solid, commanding, crisp, just to name a few words that would qualify as descriptions of this string. The high "E" a few words come to mind such as pure, full, bright, easy to bend, definitely crisp, just an overall neat sounding kind of a string. Heck, I get excited kinda' when sit down to play now... They make you sound better just by virtue of the sweet, pure, and uplifting tone of these strings. After restringing and tuning, I was struck almost immediately that this was a different sound altogether in a really good way. 5-* in my book... ... show more
