Description

Prolong your tone with the same acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any Other string available. Unlike Other string brands, Elixir strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in Other Brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set. Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes? Premium by design, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a crisp, bright tone with an expressive, vibrant presence. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, The ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel. For a slicker, gentler feel, try the original POLYWEB Coating on our 80/20 Bronze acoustic strings, which also feature a more robust and rounded tone. For more of a balance between bold and bright, our phosphor bronze acoustic guitar strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity alongside the same traditional feel as these 80/20 Bronze strings. Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir strings. For a more in-depth look at what makes our strings so special, scroll to the branded info further down the page. Frequently asked questions

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings (Custom Light, .011-.052) are world-renowned for their superb, long-lasting tone and playability. They're coated with NANOWEB Technology, a patented process that actually coats the entire string - not just the wrap wire - offering a smooth feel and prolonged string life.

These particular Elixir Strings are made from 80/20 Bronze, which is 80% copper and 20% zinc. This combination produces a bright, expressive tone often preferred by acoustic guitarists.

The NANOWEB Coating on the Elixir Strings facilitates an extended lifespan for the strings. It shields the strings from sweat, dirt, oil, and other contaminants, which contributes to the strings' longevity. Besides, it provides a smooth, natural feel reducing finger squeak and enhancing playability.

Custom Light (.011-.052) refers to the gauge of the Elixir Strings. The gauge is the string diameter, and it significantly affects the playability and tone of the guitar. Custom light strings are great for players who value ease of bending and minimal finger fatigue, without sacrificing too much tone and volume.

  • Smooth Tone and Lasting Durability – Elixir 6-String Guitar Strings are a Game Changer!
Style: Ex. Light (.010-.047) Size: 1-Pack
I’ve been using Elixir 6-string guitar strings for a few months now, and I’m truly impressed with the overall performance. As a musician, the quality of my strings is crucial to the sound and feel of my guitar, and these strings have exceeded my expectations in every way. Sound Quality: Right out of the package, these strings produce a bright, clear tone with great sustain. Whether I’m playing clean acoustic chords or rocking out on my electric guitar, the sound is consistent and rich. The clarity of each note is noticeably better than other strings I’ve used, and they hold their tone for a long time. Durability: The standout feature of Elixir strings is their durability. They last far longer than traditional strings without losing their crispness or becoming dull. I’ve been playing regularly, and the strings still feel fresh and responsive. The coating on the strings really helps protect against corrosion, dirt, and grime, which is a huge plus if you play often. ... show more

  • They last a long long time.
Style: 3 Pack Size: Light (.012-.053)
Tried all of them, loved many, but these are the best. A guitar tech old me they are without a doubt, the best strings. You always hear this type hype. He is right, they are awesome, sound as good as my favorites like daddario’s or Martin Lifespans 2.0 but they are smooth to the touch, squeekless and incredible tone. ... show more

  • Big Baby Taylor String of Choice!
Style: Light (.012-.053) Size: 1-Pack
If you have a Big Baby Taylor and are looking for this right strings...look no further. For the last 3 months I've replaced my strings at a rate of every 2 weeks looking for that right sound. While the Big Baby comes stock with Elixir Phosphor Bronze Lights, I wasn't too keen on the tingy sound it produced. I really don't like Phosphorous Bronze on any guitar, but I guess some do, hence why they are standard on most Taylors. Not to say I won't switch between the two, I just might prefer the 80/20 way more. Now, I was looking for play-ability, durability, and acoustics in my daily string. They had to be light on the fingers, produce good sound, and just all around feel right. Well, after much looking I came back to my first purchase (these babies) Elixir 80/20 Bronze NanoWeb Lights. I've tried the D'Addario, I've tried basic strings, I've tried Mediums, Phosphorous, etc. etc. Nothing beats these. They are a perfect match for the Big Baby Taylor. Nice bright and old school sound. None of this new tingy Phosphorous sound. So down falls....It seems the coating wears quite quickly with daily playing, in the realm of 3-4 weeks. But hey they are cheap enough and still sound fine even with a worn coating. You could definitely get a few months out of these with some peeling of the coating. I have yet to try the Polyweb which is suppose to be a thicker coating. On a side note, being a super health conscious person I've looked for research regarding the health impact of Fluorocarbon (the coating Elixir uses by Dupont) and human absorption through skin. While I know so many companies just use these chemicals cause they work, most really don't study the health effects of these chemicals on users. Well, I'm here to conclude that I'm still on the fence of the coating issue. While most research say yes non-cured fluorocarbon cause disease and cancer and is found in the blood over periods of time of users of fluorocarbon, then no cured fluorocarbon does not because it provides such a strong bond between the fluoride and carbon molecules (those who don't know fluoride is toxic to the body and thyroid don't buy fluoride toothpaste). While I don't fully believe this research and found that many people have unnatural fluorocarbon floating around in their blood (possible carcinogen) we are still at risk. Anyways, that doesn't really deter me from purchasing these. I guess what I'm saying is I'll take the risk and keep sweating the toxic junk out (sweat is the only proven way to rid the body of man-made chemicals like fluorocarbon...thanks dupont for the chemicals you so lovingly provide us with). To conclude, stay healthy and keep jamming! Life is short and stressful; jamming cures all. ... show more

  • Strings That Get the Job Done
Style: Light (.012-.053) Size: 1-Pack
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings, 80/20 Bronze, do exactly what guitar strings are supposed to do. They sound good, they’re easy to play, and they last a decent amount of time. Nothing fancy, no frills—just solid, dependable strings that get the job done. I put them on my guitar, and they worked as expected. The tone is clear and warm, and they hold their tuning well, even after a few solid playing sessions. They feel good under the fingers, and the coating seems to help them stay clean a little longer than other strings I’ve used. ... show more
