I provide care for an elderly person and on nights can sleep when she sleeps. The fild up mattress provided is blown out so I bought this to go on top. It was so much better than resting on painful springs. I don't think it's thick enough to lay directly on the ground but perhaps a topper for a blow up mattress or cot.     • Decent sleep pad for the money, strong smell

Decent quality sleeping pad, two different layers of foam and a nice cover as advertised. Came with a large storage case with carrying straps in addition to the straps for rolling it up built into the cover. Very soft comfortable top on the cover, and the foam itself is very comfortable in spite of being thinner foam than some other options. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the smell. Washed the cover and left the foam pad itself outside for a couple of days, steam washed the foam with an extractor, along with leaving it inside the storage bag with an ozone generator for a few hours but still a significant smell coming from the pad. Leaving it outside to just air out didn't help much at all, steam cleaning and leaving it in the bag with ozone helped cut down the smell a decent bit but still a long ways to go before I would consider the smell insignificant or minor. The cover at least didn't smell at all after washing it so I still have hope the smell isn't too persistent and will improve over time. I will definately leave it sitting outside at least a week or so more with a few more cycles with the ozone generator before I consider actually using it for camping, stunk up my whole car almost instantly even after over a day of sitting outside. ... show more

I got this to go on top of my cot that I got to replace the air mattress I had been using for camping. It was pretty amazing to sleep on and the phone cubby was nice. It is a little cumbersome to bring with you but totally worth it. I don't think it's waterproof at all or at least the velour fabric part isn't but it's cuddly and lovely. It inflated really well once I opened it and provides a pretty great nights sleep. For reference I am 5'3" and 210lbs It was wider than my cot by a couple inches but was perfectly long enough to cover my cot. ... show more

It's really comfortable but because I use it on a cot it's a little too soft and squishes in the middle and makes my back hurt. I'm 5'9 170 lbs the length and width are very nice I just wish it was a little thicker cause once you lay down it squishes flat
