  • 2-1/2" nails are a problem
I got this because it would fit into smaller areas than my framing nailer, which is quite large. I thought I would try it with 2-1/2" nails to see how it would perform... well it really struggles with 2-1/2" nails, I think that rating is really pushing it. I tried to attach some 1/2" plywood to some Sothern Yellow Pine the same way you would attach it to a stud, and it simply did not have enough power to drive the nail all the way in, this would have been no problem for my framing nailer. On top of that, it drove exactly 1 nail, then it misfired, because it cannot pull the nails off the roll if the nails are 2-1/2" long and inside the spool holder, they hit the top and it can't pull them off the roll... if you leave the door to the roll open, then it can pull them off, but you can't use it that way. Based on how far it was able to drive the 2-1/2" nails, I think the longest nail I would recommend would be 1-3/4" that seems like it would always get all the way down, maybe 2" if your studs were soft, but defiantly not 2-1/2" that is just too frustrating with the roll not being able to unroll and not having enough power to drive the nails all the way. make sure you put some air tool oil in it before each use, it comes with a little bottle, but there is no oil in the bottle. I find that the small bottle the air tool oil comes in is just fine on its own. It has depth control, but I was unable to try that as I was unable to drive even one nail in all the way, I need to get some shorter nails to try it. It also has a little lever that changes it from single fire to multi fire mode, with single fire, you pull the trigger and you get one nail, then you need to release the trigger, move it and go again, in multi fire mode, you pull the trigger first and when you push it down it fires, so you just hold the trigger down and put multiple nails in one after the other. Most of what I do uses single fire mode because I want to place nails at precise positions, but if you didn't really care and wanted to go fast then the other mode is available. If you don't need 2-1/2" nails, then this will probably be a descent nail gun, but with 2-1/2" nails it's very frustrating. ... show more

  • Very heavy duty
Is fairly heavy to hold but is very sturdy. Packs a punch when using. Have to get use to the loudness of it when it nails. Good length coil. Fast trigger. Good value.

  • Nice nail gun
Fits standard-size coil nails. If you need oversized coil nails look for a specialty gun. Seems to drive them quickly with consistency. I install asphalt roofing so I have been able to test this gun pretty well. Works as intended just need to get your air pressure correct.
