Finished in 2 days! Was a lot of fun, no pieces were missing, instructions were easy to follow as well. Some tricky parts were connecting the tabs on some pieces into the holes of other pieces, the nail file included made it easy to shave the tab down a bit, took 2 seconds. Also the wiring was the hardest part for me but patience is key! Also make sure to glue everything down, the books and pictures etc, because one of the last steps is attaching the bottoms piece and you have to turn the whole thing upside down. 10/10! ... show more

Rose Detective Book Nook was a joy to put together. Gorgeous graphics, top quality materials, precision parts that snapped together like a dream. The kit provided lots of backup pieces, but I didn't need any. Helpful hints: 1) use 2 longest wired bulbs for second floor front wall & right wall installations; 2) feed enough wire on touch pad to reach installation point in center of front wall; 3) trust that touch pad will work even through piece of wood (it will!); 4) don't glue walls together - they snap together & provide a bit of flexibility that is helpful when fitting exterior walls on. Putting this together was crazy fun and the final product is super cute. It was time consuming and detailed but I enjoyed every minute. I used regular super glue when needed and it worked just fine. There was the problem of a missing hole at the end, but it was in the back so it wasn’t a huge deal. Overall I would absolute do one of these again. ... show more

I'm just getting started but thus far, I'm super impressed. This is my first booknook. It came nicely packaged with no damage. The pieces are super precise and fit together in a tab and slot manner. Instructions are mostly diagrams...nice big clear diagrams. A couple recommendations - looking through your phone camera is really useful for finding parts on these darker wood sheets. Some parts will pop right out but with the stubborn parts, I've been holding the sheets up to the light to illuminate the attachment points and gently separating them from the sheets using a razor blade. I've had really good luck with this method and zero breakage. I haven't needed any glue yet. The joints fit so well, none has been needed...yet. If you're debating buying this, rest assured, the quality of this kit is amazing! ... show more

This is my second cutebee book nook I've done. The instructions are pretty clear. Make sure to have tweezers and clear drying craft glue. Set includes extra pieces for delicate pieces that might break. This one didn't have enough book stickers for all the books, but that didn't really matter to me. I added the stone mushroom. This is the best one yet. It has some parts printed on both sides making it easy to determine which side to face front. Many of the items snap together without glue. One of the tricky parts is fitting square pegs into round holes. You have to sand off the corners so they fit. The paper parts are stickers so making books is easy and there is no messy glue needed. One trick to smooth construction of the outside walls is to not glue the inside walls to each other. That way they flex and allow the exterior walls to snap together easily. I did have to lubricate the secret escape panel slide with wax. It wasn't sliding easily without it. Finally, I love the dust covers. Overall this kit is above all the other 20 or so kits I have done. ... show more

We bought this kit after doing the Eternal Library. Quality is not as nice. This book nook is smaller, the interior is an mdf/cardboard material, not the plywood of the Eternal Library, and has an unpleasant odor, indicating vocs. Also the books covers and papers are all stickers, and they dont turn out as nice as doing them by hand with glue. More items peg together, rather than using glue but they dont look as nice. The front button to turn on the lights is great, but not worth the diminished quality of the overall kit. Edit: Downgrading this because got to last step and case will not go together. Pieces inside are now coming loose as we try to get all four sides together. But the case is compressed cardboard, not plywood, so it's fragile. Not sure we can complete it. The Eternal Bookstore was lovely and sturdy and fun to put together. This one isnt worth the money, poor quality materials, and too much reliance on stickers and peg construction rather than glueing. ... show more
