  • DO NOT BUY THIS BAG
I purchased this bag less than a year ago. Within the first month, pieces started to fall off of it. Now, all of the zippers are stuck. I purchased in December, and with only about 10 uses, I’m in the market to buy another one. I REALLY like how the bag is laid out. It was PERFECT for my needs, but the cheap materials that it is made out of make this bag useless. If you can afford this bag, look elsewhere for better quality. ... show more

  • Put To The Test
I waited a while to post this review. I travel every week; often multiple cities per week. I pack my trusty 400 (with a plastic cover) to practice, warm up, arrange, etc. This bag carries the controller and all of the associated cables, gear, and laptop. I'm now on my second bag after warranty exchange. The Pros: 1. Solid, padded protection for all of my gear. I'm not dropping this thing or throwing it around, but there is a very good layer of protection for the inner contents of the bag as well as my 16" laptop. I travel comfortably not worrying about this. 2. It fits under my seat (SW, Delta, United & AA) as carry on as long as you don't stuff it. However, it sticks out further than the seat by several inches. Depending on the flight crew, I have been forced to put it in the overhead a handful of times. You need to sit by the window otherwise it's a FAA obstruction in the event of emergency and you could be sued if someone trips on it. 3. It fits all my doo doo. Laptop, ipad, chargers, cables, headphones, cables, and more cables. On occasion, I'll throw in a few shirts just because, but it's my electronics carry-on bag. 4. Scans through TSA pre-check effortlessly. Hundreds of flights, never been stopped for contents. Except Canada where they like to scan the controller by itself. 5. Being a back pack is awesome. Having the loops to secure it to the handle of roller bag (carry on) is awesome. The backpack straps distribute the weight in a great way. It's well balanced. I'm also an avid hiker- this bag obviously doesn't go, but a well distributed pack is something I appreciate. 6. 3 Year Warranty Cons: 1. The buckles and grommets. They were so close to perfection. 1a. The buckles have metal fasteners at the ends that attach to magnetic grommets that attach to the cloth itself. The buckles will loosen and come undone. You will lose one. You will no longer be able to secure the flap. Major design flaw. You cannot purchase a new buckle or just have one shipped under warranty. 1b. The metal grommets. Disappointingly flimsy. On bag number one, several of the grommets popped off and it was no longer fully functional as I needed to secure the pockets. I use ALL of the pockets. I figured it was just a fluke... nope. Tonight, I backed up and caught the corner of a pillar in an airport. Didn't think anything of it. Didn't jostle me; no substantial impact. When I got to the hotel, I noticed the grommet had started to pop off the fabric. The metal clasps do not penetrate the fabric deep enough, and it leaves micro tears that will worsen over time. Major design flaw. 2. The exterior pockets. I may just be picky, but there's no real place to safely store your headphones except the large exterior pocket. They are prone to being smashed. I haven't damaged anything because I'm aware and I only put my backup pair in the bag, but I'm not sure how this could be added without adding significant size to the bag and I do like the compactness of it. That said, once you lose a grommet or buckle, especially the large top pocket loses security. 3. The warranty. Oh boy... it's a 3 year warranty. That's great. Supposedly, the bag ships with a lot number. I had a huge battle with GOgroove because they wanted the lot number of the bag to process my claim for the above cons. The lot number is not a requirement of the warranty or product registration. In the end, the honored it, but not without some back and forth. I had to ship the bag to them and wait for the new one which took about 3 weeks... no advance exchange. The second bag does have a lot number tag, which I specifically looked for. Infuriating. 4. NO SPARE PARTS. Lose a piece due to poor design? Too bad. Buy a new bag. I'd have gladly purchased the missing pieces outside of the warranty. What a waste of time, packaging and energy to transport a replacement. The 2 cents of a guy who puts some real miles on this thing. I struggle with the star rating because for $130+ textile bag, I would expect the exterior to be built as well as the interior. I have to give it an average rating for the disappointing exterior parts that could easily be upgraded. I may just punch my own grommets through it and make it a tie closure. However, the straps and handles are rock solid... I fully expected them to start to give and tear with as much usage as I put on it. The bag has held up in that regard. I would have given a higher rating if I read this review before I bought it and my expectations weren't as high. ... show more

  • Durable
Very sturdy and durable bag. It's a good bag for carrying around any type of equipment that will fit the bag. I typically put my party supplies inside when I am setting up for a party or event. I like to stack my lighting in this bag. I travel with mics, easels, and other equipment that I just place into the compartments for easy carrying. It is very beneficial to me as a party planner but you can use it for anything you need. Great for traveling! ... show more

  • I HAD TO SQUEEZE MY Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 INTO IT!
It's a very nice bag but its being advertised as a bag that can hold the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1. As you can see in the pict......I had to squeeze my mixer into it. I wanted to return the bag but its a cool bag.

  • Fits DDJ 400 and even DDJ Rev 1/ very spacious - Zipper on one compartment questionable
I have a lot of mixers, and I just leave them out there, they get dusty and I have to clean them every time. I also noticed that I need a DJ Mixer bag when I'm on the road djing. This bag acts as both for me, to keep my gear dust free and to take it on the road protected. This bag is a standard cost in terms of other bags. It fits a DDJ 400 perfectly, and it even fits a DDJ Rev1 (snuggly and putting it slightly diagonally). The DDJ Rev 1 is technically about 1 inch longer than the DDJ 400 so it wasn't made to fit it, but I was pleasantly surprised it fit in there as well. There are plenty of compartments for mics, xlr cables, headphones and much more. You can take it as a backpack or a suitcase. One of my compartments had a questionable zipper (maybe it was just my backpack), I tried to zip and unzip it to fix it, but kind of just gave up on it-- it zipped enough to feel okay but I don't need it to be perfect on that small pouch. The main zippers I needed were in perfect condition so I don't mind. Overall great purchase ... show more

  • All my gears in one place.
The GOgroove DJ Controller backpack is absolutely a great investment. I'm able to fit my DJ Controller, XLRA cables , my hard drive, my microphones and so much more. The backpack has a lot of spaces and so many extra pockets. The material feels great [not cheap], feels heavy. This backpack worths every penny, and I'm extremely happy. I have zero disappointment. I highly recommend this one. ... show more
