    Love this hotplate! Great heat distribution, very stable for any pot or pan, we even use it with a wok and it works perfectly. It looks nicer than anything else I have had, it's durable enough for daily use, great value! Do be aware that the whole thing gets hot on top and sides. It's perfectly safe and we have never had any problems with it but I think if we were cooking with kids I would be nervous about them touching the rounded sides. ... show more

      • Works perfectly with my All American canner

    The BroilKing I was using for canning (because I have a glass top stove) stopped working suddenly. Unfortunately the price for those went up to nearly $200. I needed an alternative and found this $40 gem. The burner size was the same as the BroilKing. Others had commented that it's works well with their canner, so I ordered it. Excellent decision! I've already used it for multiple canning batches. However, as others have mentioned, the outside of this thing gets HOT! Don't let small kids near it! I placed it on a metal oven tray for safety and to protect my countertop. But it plays very nicely with my cast-iron frying pan as well as my canner. Even though the burner is quite a bit smaller than the canner, it has no problem getting the canner up to and holding it at 10 lbs of pressure. I'm considering getting a backup, just in case this one stops working in the middle of a canning session. (At this price I could get 2 more and would still save money compared to a BroilKing!     I bought this back in November of 2024. It’s now February of 2025. I loved this cook top so much, and loved using it. It got hot on the knobs and sides, but I could handle that. I liked how it heat up so quick, and got so hot. But what I didn’t like, was as I was cooking with it yesterday, I noticed one of the legs was making it wobbly. Figured I’d finish then see what was going on with the leg. I turned down the knob, and it came right off. It melted off. I turned it off, let it cool, and saw the front right leg had melted down. [Update 3/5/2025]: The seller proactively reached out and offered a refund or replacement. In the hopes that this was an anomaly, we had actually ordered another one of the same, so we opted for a refund. Added a star for the seller being helpful and proactive. ... show more

    After buying a few others that either didn't stand up over time or didn't work from the get go, THIS IS THE ONE! Sturdy construction and stable. Heats up almost instantly and stays on! No waiting an hour to boil water and no worries about it cycling off every few seconds. Boiled a pot of water in a few minutes and stayed going until I turned it off.     Hi, I liked this hotplate the design is very nice and it gets hot really quickly I have been able to cook potatoes for mash potatoes, lentils, with meats the stove is able to quickly maintain the level of heat that you choose. The plate is able to get red hot at max temp. The only 2 things that I point out for improvement are the knobs, the markings on the knobs fade very easily, just by cleaning them and the markings of the temperature knob is not facing upwards like the on/off knob is. So it's inconvenient to be bending over everytime to see if you have it at 5 or 7. The knobs should have been engraved with the markings I would have gladly paid more for it. ... show more
