  • Compact and Reliable WiFi Upgrade
This WiFi adapter is a game changer! I needed something quick to get my older desktop online, and this little device worked like a charm. Setup was super easy—plug it in, follow the simple instructions, and you're good to go. I was online within minutes. The connection is stable and fast, especially on the 5GHz band. I’ve been streaming videos, downloading files, and browsing with zero hiccups. The small size is another bonus—it’s barely noticeable when plugged in, so no worries about accidentally bumping it. Tip: If you’re using this with Windows, make sure you download the drivers first for a smoother setup. Highly recommended if you need a quick, affordable WiFi solution! ... show more

  • Works fine with a MacBook!
I own a Late 2008 MacBook running OSX Yosemite. After 12 years of light to moderate use, the internal Airport wireless card finally went bad. While replacing the Airport card is certainly possible, it is a pretty involved process that carries a certain degree of risk. Instead of disassembling my Macbook, I looked around for an alternative solution. When I found the Cudy AC650 (model WU650), I was pretty excited. Basically, I was looking for a USB Wifi adapter that was Mac OS compatible, compact in design, and had a decent range. Also, at around $12.90, the Cudy seemed like a decent value, even if it wasn’t the cheapest. One thing I was a little disappointed in was that the Cudy adapter isn’t plug and play. You do have to install a driver in order to get up and running. It is also worth mentioning that there is an installation disc included, but it is a mini-CD which is too small to work in the MacBook’s slot loading DVD/CD disc drive (it’ll get stuck if you try). Therefore, you’ll have to download the driver from the Cudy website in order to get up and running. The driver did install pretty quickly and easily. I didn’t experience any problems there. After a quick reboot of the system, all I had to do was reconnect to my wifi network, and I was back up and running again. I have about the same range as before. I found that the connection speed was great. I had no trouble achieving between 390-433Mbps (the manufacture advertises 433Mbps @ 5GHz, so this was pretty spot on). One important thing to note is that this device is only a Wifi adapter. It doesn’t offer Bluetooth. So, if you are looking for a complete solution to replace a bad Apple Airport card, you’ll want something that supports both Wifi and Bluetooth. Otherwise, you’ll need to get a USB Bluetooth adapter as well (if you use Bluetooth devices). Overall, I’m pretty happy with this Wifi adapter. It does exactly what I need it to, and it was certainly cheaper, and easier, than reinstalling a new Wifi card in my old MacBook. ... show more

Perfect plug and play for linux! using a laptop with a removed internal wifi card for security reasons, added this while home to add that WIFI support back to my Ubuntu based laptop. works great, no additional drivers needed, just plug and play. wifi speeds are around 300-500 (connection/negotiated speed to router/access point) small, lightweight and easy to travel with. ... show more

  • not plug and play for my linux distro. needs more work and better instructions for other distros.
not plug and play for Linux. purchased based on description that was Linux compatible. it was not. drivers and instructions are included but you'd probably need to compile them for your distro, if they work. for this purchase I was testing versions of puppy linux (ubuntu, slackware, void and debian) on an older dell laptop (insp. 9300). puppylinux.*om/puppy-linux-collection. this should work just fine for windows. have not tested with Mint, Fedora or others... yet ... show more
