This is your traditional 'can' style vacuum. This unit is small, powerful and light. The wheels are small and not the greatest but it has wheels and many of this type do not. The metal body feels a little thin, this also causes it to be very light. All the pieces will fit somewhere on the unit for storage. The whole thing with all attachments weighs in at 8lb 14oz (~4kg). Which feels light and prone to tipping when i was trying it out in my shop. What i like about this, is how powerful it is. I vacuumed up some saw dust around the shop and it worked very well. I like that the vent out is straight up so its not blowing the sawdust to sides as I'm using it. The hose can be used on the top for a blower, and on the side for vacuum. When used as a blower the air is warm. My unit pulled 871watts during operation. The one thing i did notice that i thought was not right, was that i can feel air coming out of the hole where the electrical cord comes out of the body. It doesn't seem like a major problem (?) since its going through the bag filter and the hepa filter, but it probably shouldn't happen and is a defect. # update to this review I reached out to the vendor to ask about the air coming out of the cord hole. They said that this is by design, as the air needs to flow through to help cool the motor. The vendor responded in a few hours which was nice to see.     • The perfect stove or fireplace vacuum
Ok, let's call it "near-perfect", for who knows what is truly "perfect" anyway. :) (God, to be sure ;) Back down to earth. Fyi, I have a wood stove as primary heating source in the house, and dealing with ash is a huge part of daily life during cold, burning months. This vacuum is fun, unique and identifies thoroughly with its designed purpose. It's not your typical can vacuum cleaner. It's not heavy and bulky, as most are, and it does not come with a bag. It's designed primarily for dealing with ash, which for regular vacuums, this is not a good thing at all. I love the "can" design, both for its lightness and additionally for its portability. This, of course, is necessary, for when its full of ash, you don't want to be hauling a clunky vacuum to your ash pile or other repository. The lid, having a clamp top, is also perfect. It makes removing the lid for a quick spill out ideal. The safety feature I love, for while we surely do aim to never suck up hot ash or coal, it's always a possibility. Therefore, having the additional fireproof filter is a blessing to peace of mind and safety. Aesthetically, it looks as if it was designed to dwell near my stove, having that black, cast iron sort of vibe going on. Surely all the parts poking about take away from the scene, but overall, it's a solid look. Those parts are both simple and perfect. The thin, metal nozzle for dealing with corners, especially as you're hunting about soot-covered areas at times. Easy to clean. Then the more common attachments for all the surrounding area of the stove, just excellent. The sucking power is simply strong and great. It also should offer a good indication of when the filters need to be cleaned, as you should really notice when that force diminishes. The legs/wheels are total "meh". A letdown, considering all else. At the same time, they are functional and likely chosen for how light they are. Easy to pop on and off, so that's a plus. All in all, I think this little sucker is just terrific to have on hand for the coming seasons of burning and cleaning. So glad to have it, and happy to recommend it. ... show more

We like that this product allows for you to clean the ashes out of the woodstove a lot sooner because it does not have to be completely cold. It has really good suction to it. It was very easy to put it together and cleaning it out is not bad. We like that it has wheels so it is not hard to move it when it is full. ... show more

    • Ashes, Dust, Pet Hair, this thing is a complete ROCKSTAR
I've never seen a vacuum like this made for consumers, so I had to try it out. We have fires multiple times per week during the winter, and all that ash is a real pain to clean up. It gets all over the floor in front of the fireplace, and in the air, which is terrible for anyone, particularly those of us with asthma. BUT YOU CAN USE IT FOR SO MUCH MORE THAN THE FIREPLACE!!! This cleaned up the mess from our last fire in less than 2 minutes, zero mess. The dual filters keep anything from getting out into the air, and the accessories are smaller than typical hose accessories with some nice attachments to help you get into the cracks and crevices (more on that later). It's a touch on the loud side, but assembling it takes no time at all, and the smaller size makes it very convenient for tighter spaces. It started at the fireplace, but quickly got used to clean up dust from the house fans. With pets, we get fur in weird places it never comes out of, and the brushes on the attachments made light work of what would have been an hour of doing it halfway by hand. HUGE WIN. It then went to the ceiling fans, which throw dust all over the walls that's a nightmare to get off. This vacuum single handedly did 2 hours worth of work in less than 5 minutes. I've tried doing this with the rigid shop vac, and the extension on the household vacuum, neither were up to the task, either for lack of power, not enough suction, or the fact that they shoot dust and debris everywhere because the filter system on them is meant for things like sawdust, not fine particulates. Overall, this thing gets 6 out of 5 stars. It'll be getting regular use all over the house. It has a logo on it, but it's not one I'm familiar with, however, that really doesn't mean too much to me, I'm aware it was made in China, and the performance is otherworldly on this guy. ... show more
