I live in the Central Valley of California where our temps reach triple digits every summer. I have an 8' window in my living room which faces west, so the summers are brutal. These black-out drapes have made such a difference!! They block out 100% of the sun (so be prepared to use some lighting LOL!). These drapes are absolutely beautiful. I looked and looked at all different kinds for the right color taupe and these are it. Most of the drapes I received that said they were taupe turned out to be beige or natural. These have a really nice tweed look to them. I threw them in the wash with cold water and then tumble dried on delicate cycle. They came out beautifully. They still need a light ironing but the wrinkles came right out. They hang beautifully as well. I bought a pair of a different brand for the living room and just can never get them to hang right at the bottom. These are perfect.
