I ordered this RZNSNM Electric Drum Set for my grandson. My son has a set of acoustic and a set of electronic drums. My grandson likes to play with them, too, but he's really not big enough to reach the controls and, on the acoustic drums, he's likely as not to punch a hole in a drum head. I thought that if he had his own set of electronic drums, he might stay away from my son's drums. It's important to understand that these are not replacements for instrumental-quality electronic drums. That's not surprising, since a good set of electronic drums will cost 20 times as much as this toy. So, you're not going to get sounds that true to the sound that real drums make. The foot pedals are basically on/off switches and don't offer much in the way of feel. It's very difficult to modulate the volume of each drum pad just by varying how hard you hit the pads. All that said, most kids will have a lot of fun with these. The built-in speakers are loud enough to satisfy most kids, and there is a headphone jack that parents will appreciate. Keep in mind that even with headphones attached, these drums are not going to be noiseless; the sound of the sticks hitting the pads can drive you crazy after a while.     • This is a great toy for learning some of the basics.
There are a lot of cool features about this drum set. Probably MY favorite aspect is the ability to wear headphones and only they can hear the noise, lol. It is easy to store once the are finished playing with it and it does seem to be fairly durable. They take turns creating their own little arrangements and it keeps them busy for a long time. The quality could be better, but it is okay for the price point. This would definitely make a great gift for a large age range. ... show more

I originally got this for my two year old who loves to drum on things. It turns out that my 8 year old liked it even more. It’s pretty simple for an older kid. The material is soft and can be laid out on a table or floor without worrying about damaging it. It’s very portable as well.

Our 8 year old has been asking to learn to play the drums, but had zero knowledge about drums yet, so this is a great starter kit for him to explore. Ot is very easy to store and can roll up and be stored easily in a bin in his room. The headphone jack is nice so it is not loud and disruptive to the rest of the family. I do wish it had an app or some sort of educational booklet about the different drums, how to play drums, etc, but he's having fun just figuring things out on his own for now. I did take a star off of my rating for the packaging that is kind of evil and creepy looking for a product marketed for toddlers and young children in the description and pictures. I took it out of the box prior to giving to my 8 year old and 3 year old to look at. I think if I were sending this as a gift to someone and didnt see the packaging ahead of time, I would be disappointed. ... show more

    • Nice but won't stay flat
I like the responsiveness of each of the drums. The sticks feel premium and the foot pedals kept the double taps and everything. My only con is that it wouldn't stay completely flat, which in turn made the second one from the left bottom row and the one right above it, not be as responsive. It took an extra few hits before it made the percussion sound. ... show more

    • Great starter set for kids
While the design of this drum set is super random, it is fun and has nice sound for beginners. It all works well and rolls up easily for storage. It is cute and fun for kids or beginners learning drums. Minus one star because the volume is kinda on the low side.
