This LightGrip adhesive cutting mat is the perfect "stickiness" for "holding on and then letting go" of those die cuts that have a lot of open spaces. The paper doesn't tear when I lift off my designs. My only complaint is that you only receive ONE mat, instead of two when purchasing this item. Yes, it's only $9.95 instead of $12.95, like the original mats, but they don't have to put as much adhesive on the LightGrip ones, so you should still get two mats for that price. All in all, if Provo Craft have to charge the $12.95 for two in a pack of LightGrip then do it, but for goodness sakes, give us two for the price, not one! I have a silhouette cameo. The mats are so expensive compared to Cricut mats that I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I switched - not only are they cheaper - but the adhesiveness is much more realistic than the silhouette mats. The silhouette mats are so incredibly sticky it is ridiculous - I would try "desticking" matsbefore use, but still paper would adhere way to much. As much as I love the normal cricut mats though, I needed something with a little less stick for very detailed items - and this worked great. A little more spendy than the normal mats, but I use this only for ultra detailed designs and my first one has lasted forever. ... show more

Exactly as described and works perfectly with my Cricut. It’s ‘lightly’ sticky. That’s exactly what I needed for the vinyl I’m using. I was using a stronger green mat, but it was too sticky and was becoming very difficult to peel off the vinyl without damaging or ruining it. The original mat that came with my Cricut had too strong of a grip to cut paper items on it. The small cuts would get stuck and just tear when getting them off. I ordered the light grip mat and it's great. I tend to try to use this mat for everything (paper, vinyl, iron-on, fabrics) because everything stays put, but still comes off easily. I think I will order another for those projects requiring changes in the material and multiple cuts. ... show more

It's a great product till they get dirty over time and need to be rehydrated or something to get them somewhat sticky again. Make sure to keep the plastic film on it as much as possible when not in use to help with longevity.

The light grip are my favorite mats. For some reason the green regular one is standard. It's too sticky and people complain, I've ripped paper and had issues with my vinyl backing causing bubbles in the vinyl from the backing lifting off. These ones are about half the amount of stickiness and I can use them without damaging much of anything! If you haven't used these ones yet definitely give it a try, you'll be amazed how much easier it is to work with! ... show more
