Great value for the money. When we ordered this playset on Dec 10th, the estimated delivery was Dec 22 - 27, but it arrived on Dec 20th. My father-in-law and I assembled most of the tower portion on the 21st, and my nine-year-old daughter and I finished assembling it the next day. Instructions, which included two pages just for (1) a diagram and measurements of the screws, nuts, and bolts and (2) a diagram with description and measurements of all of the pieces, were clear and easy to follow. We separated the two diagram pages from the instructions for quick reference. The playset arrived in several boxes very logically laid out, and the diagrams explained clearly which box contained which piece. After assembly, we were impressed with (a) how sturdy this product was and (b) the quality every part of the product, from the screws and bolts to the wood they sent to the slide and swings. The manufacturer did not do this on the cheap. This thing is made to last. Our kids and our extended family and friends are already having a great time with this playset. Let me start off by saying this is a 5 star swingset as far as features and quality, but I am giving a 4 star review because of the assembly. The negatives- The directions are unclear and even incorrect in spots. One page said to use a certain part in the parts list and then showed a different part in the illustration. Nothing is labeled. My husband and father-in-law had to measure everything. It took two grown, handy, well-educated men over 14 hours to assemble. Be careful if you have the monkey bars. The directions will have you assemble the clubhouse portion completely without mentioning you shouldn’t do that if you are adding the monkey bars. They had to disassemble some of it in order to add on the monkey bars. The positives- This swingset is very good quality. The wood is sturdy and all the parts came undamaged. It has all the features we were looking for (slide, swings, rock wall, monkey bars, picnic table, clubhouse) at a nice price point. My daughter absolutely loves it. Before I purchased, I had read the reviews stating about the confusing instructions and the time needed to assemble. We knew what to expect a bit in that regard. It’s all true. After extensive research regarding wood type, expense, country made, style, design and warranty etc. I decided on this set. The cost, including hiring a contractor to install, was far less expensive than similar sets made in China with less of a warranty. I did go into the Creative Playthings store and obtained a quote for the exact style and it was $3,000. Their installation is included in the store if you live near by, which we do, but it’s still not worth it. They claim this wood isn’t their premium pine or even the next step down pine, but honestly I’m not so sure and seeing the less than premium pine in the store vs. this, there really is no difference. It took our hired contractor about a day and a half to install and he’s very experienced in assembling these types of swing sets. I am giving it 5 stars as it’s exaclty what I wanted, but please do note that all of the hardware did not come with the set. I called and emailed Creative Playthings and their service was excellent and they overnighted the entire hardware set. We were lucky as our assembler didn’t mind, but that may not always be the case. Also, he stated that none of the wood pieces were labeled and he had to measure each piece. Again, be mindful if hiring someone. ... show more

    • Confusing instructions, suspect screw quality, and missing pieces
The boards aren’t labeled and the only thing they give you is a “key” where you have to look at the board letter in the instruction step, reference the key for that board letter, see which box # it is in, go to that box and then compare the key to each board in the specified box to match board shape, length, # of holes and location. Almost the same steps apply to finding the correct hardware as well. Very time consuming and confusing. The bolts come together in 1-2 bags and you have to measure all and sort otherwise it’s a nightmare. I am very handy and do a ton of wood work and I had to read and re-read each instruction step. Our monkey bars set was missing an entire bar. Luckily I was able to take one from the monkey bar ladder (too step is really not needed for our kids) but the step rail was longer so I had to use a hacksaw to cut it down to size for the monkey bars. Now I have holes to fill in on the stair boards but I am doing than with wood filler. Our set came with loads of extra bolts and screws but was missing 20 bolts, washers, and nuts in the size we needed/instructions called for. I had to make a trip to Lowe’s to get what I needed. I went back through the instructions to check I didn’t use the wrong size anywhere as well but no luck..we were just shorted. Lastly, the set is only three weeks old with our kids only playing on it a few times due to excessive rain...I come to find that 8 of the screws holding the rock wall boards on have sheered off totally. This left an entire board on the ground. I replaced with my own galvanized deck screws as it would seem the screws that came with the set are horrible quality. The highlight is the slide as it is great quality. One of the thicker and better made slides I have seen on these type of sets. By far the slide will outlast the rest of the play set! My kids love it but it was definitely not the quality nor worth the cost when it’s missing pieces. ... show more
