This is a great little kit to test out the capabilities of your laser cutter/engraver. I wasn't sure about what I was going to use the cutter the most for so this allowed me to experiment. I was very pleased with the quality of the materials. At around $10, the price isn't too bad either. Personally, I think this kit (or a comparable one) should be included with every laser engraver or laser head. Read the description of the product because it's exactly that, a material kit of 5.9" x 5.9" assorted materials. I'd probably add in 'Testing' to the description if it were me. You get 2 pieces of unidentified wood ~1/8" thick, 9 pieces of craft paper in various colors, and 7 pieces of felt in various colors. For what it is in the listing, it meets requirements. If you're looking to test new materials, this is a nice way to get a small amount and test what you like. -1 star only because it's a touch pricy for what you actually get. ... show more

This set of materials for laser engraving and cutting offers a good variety of different materials (wood, felt, and paper). With several colors. The only problem is that they are somewhat small, so you will not get many items out of any piece. The quality seems to be good. I have a CR Falcon laser, and while they specifically mentioned that laser in the listing, these materials can of course be used on pretty much any laser tool. The pieces are not huge, so they won't last for large projects, but they are good for seeing what's out there and for testing cuts and engraves on different materials. The materials seem high quality. The wood is fine and looks suitable for cutting and engraving. The paper is a higher grade than the colored construction paper I've seen in other kits. It's not quite cardstock, but the color is smooth and consistent throughout, and its heavier than normal copy paper. I was most interested in the felt material, as I hadn't tried felt with a laser before. I think this "felt" is well suited for laser cutting, but it does soft not feel like cotton felt. It feels a little stiff and I suspect it might be a recycled PETG material or something like that. I didn't see any details anywhere about what it's made of. In my tests, it cut very clean and leaves zero scorch marks or discoloration around the cut (which also makes me think it is plastic based and melting, as opposed to a fabric that might burn instead. ) On my CR Falcon (10W), I set the speed to 1200 mm/min and 80% power. The downside of this perfect cutting is that the felt does not engrave at all. It will darken slightly as it melts from heat, but I don't think you will get a brown/black burn color on it. There is a photo with me showing the edges of 3 colors of felt that I cut with no clean up or post processing. If you are new to laser cutting and engraving and want to have a few colors of paper or some felt to try cutting, this is a worthwhile set to have on hand. ... show more
