  • Wrong sized nozzle but the others work flawlessly
I received a 0.40 and 0.60 in Nickel plated copper but instead of a 0.40 and 0.60 in hardened steel i received a 0.25 and a 0.60. I requested an exchange thinking it was a fluke but i received the same sizes again even though the description and pictures show otherwise. I will update this review to 5 stars once i receive the right size nozzles because they are a great, overlooked upgrade Update. I initiated a replacement as well as had the seller reach out to me. Both sets of nozzles were the same as the original. So you will get the following when you order this based on my now 3 orders... NICKEL PLATED COPPER 2X 0.40 2X 0.20 HARDENED STEEL 2X 0.25 2X 0.60 Again, great nozzles. Print beautifully, last a long time, haven't had a clog printing glow in the dark pla at 0.60 in hardened steel. Added an extra star from 3 to 4 because the seller did try to make it right, it would be 5 stars all day without a doubt if the diameters in the product description matched the diameters of the product received. ... show more

  • Surprisingly easy to set up
Style: B-Spider High Temperature and High Flow ...
I was having some issues with underextrusion that wasn't being fixed through all the common and uncommon fixes. I read that the hotend could be the issue. That's what set me up to buy this. I held off about a week just being kind of worried I'd break my printer. I eventually got to it and it was one of the easiest mods I've ever done. The default tutorial liked with this hotend is kinda trash. They speed through it and completely gloss over the absolute most important part which is the electrical wiring. This upset me because that was the one thing I was worried about. I looked on YouTube and found this guy installing on a different model printer, but he went into detail on the electrical wiring as he commented on the lack of info reality provided in both their video and paper directions. To do this part you add the thermal paste onto the bulb provided and place it in the metal sleeve and crimp it with some pliers. After that add thermal paste to the tube and slot it into the printer and that's it. The other electrical component that I don't know what it's called looks like a metal cylinder which also just slots in besides the other tube and it's kind of hard to screw this up so don't worry. The next part which I didn't even consider was the print head shroud. The Ender 3 had some trouble fitting the default shroud on with the wires sticking out of the left side. So I went back to the video and found I could just print the shroud. Luckily for me I have a spare printer so this wasn't an issue, but if you are working on your only printer this could be a huge issue. I later found out that the shroud they provided was too long for the Ender 3 so I had to load it into blender and edit the vent to sit about 3-5mm higher from the bed. After that it's a one screw hookup and you are done. After doing this once I'm confident I can do the whole installation in under 5 minutes. It's really not hard at all so if you were holding back due to difficulty or not knowing how don't let that stop you. I've been cranking the speed up on this thing to 150% default speed and it's printing cleaner than when my old hotend printed at 75% speed. Overall it was a huge improvement across the board with this hotend so I highly recommend it. As a side note. There is a YouTube channel of some punkrock guy with a split tongue that I've been following lately. I don't remember his name, but he's someone worth checking out for mods and general info on 3D printers. I wish I had watched his videos first because he talk about there being multiple other hotends and why the Spyder isn't always the best choice. The main thing being is it's much larger than other hot ends meaning the other options will do about the same without the need to replace the shroud saving you a lot of time. ... show more

  • Works Great
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
So far so good! Seems to work very good, I have not had any issues with thermal runaway, like others have had. It is a bit longer than stock hotend, so i had to put spacers on the crtouch mounting bracket to keep the hotend from crashing into the bed. Other than that, all is good!

  • Bad instructions good product
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
Product is still new and the instructions for installing on an ender 3 would make the product unusable and probably break warranty. After doing my own research the better method is to leave the connectors on the hot end and instead splice the adapter cables to the previous hotbed wires.

  • Good hotend. Its 24v, does not fit ALL CR Series. Does not work for 12v printers.
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
The media could not be loaded. Edit3: I converted to 24v and I got some great prints with this hotend, however I could never use the Marlin PID tune, the values it was saving would cause thermal runaway. With default PID values I could print good enough. After a month or so it got worse and the thermistor got worse and I started getting thermal runaway at the start of every print. Seller was kind and help me out. I moved to 4 stars because when it works it works beautifully and the seller support is excellent. I am looking forward to getting back to printing. I'll update my review once again after I can PID tune and get some decent time without it failing. Edit: the seller and I have come to an agreement, moving to 3 stars. Will modify again after the 24v conversion is complete and I can test the hotend. Edit2: the seller has been great and has good support. I've tested and this hotend is great however I can not give it anymore stars as I've got 1 issue. I can't use the Marlin PID Auto tune. I can print okay with default Marlin PID values but when I try to use auto tune 10c before target temp when PID takes over it stalls and throws thermal runaway. Otherwise it's been a good hotend. It reaches room temp to 200c in 41 seconds! It does reach 300c. I'm interested to know of anyone else has this issue with PID tuning. Is it just my hotend or is it Marlin with this hotend? Excuse my wiring, I left all the legs long for test printing, and will clean up later. This is my CR10, which is listed as compatible. However my CR10 is 12v and the heater cartridge is 24v. I tested the resistance at 10ohms. It wont heat up past 150c. I am now in the process of converting my printer to 24v. I'll change my review after I convert to 24v and get to test the hotend out. ... show more

  • Great hot end, even greater customer support!
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
I received a hot end that had huge temperature swings while the X axis was in motion. I tried the extension harness and splicing the harness to the hot end with no luck. I troubleshot it down to a bad factory crimp on the thermistor wire to the harness. The seller reached out to me and sent a new hot end kit and after splicing it to my Ender 3 pro it works flawlessly. Highly recommend this hot end and this company. ... show more

  • Hotend that works like butter...after splicing!
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
This hotend is great and fit perfectly on my Ender 5 Pro. Once getting it installed, I was impressed with the speed it heats up and how well it maintains its heat even when running faster speeds. However, the extension harnesses they send with hot end have really junky pins. The first couple of short prints went really smoothly, but after that I started getting thermal runaway shut downs pretty regularly. After troubleshooting to make sure I had done everything correctly I realized that the pins were loose and one wrong move would send the printer into a fritz. I had originally wanted to avoid splicing the wires as that intimidated me something fierce, but I wanted this hotend to work out!! I love it! So I worked up the courage and spliced the sucker in. I have now been printing for hours with no thermal runaway errors and my love for the Creality Speedy Spider is real! ... show more

  • Difficulties but seller is great and replaced faulty unit
Style: A-Spider Speedy Ceramic Hotend
Once installed and PID tuned it was still giving thermal runaway errors. They did send me a replacement and once I return from a business trip I will be installing the new one and will rerate after testing. UPDATE. New one installed and no errors as of yet. It looks great so far.
