The picture depicted on the shipping carton and the instruction book are in error. They both show the metal bag handle outside the bag at the top. Assembly in this manner leaves a big gap that allows debris to blow back to the operator. Mower works as advertised otherwise.

i have used push mowers since 1978. after extreme scrutiny of all the push mowers left, because middle of summer not a lot of mowers left to find. i only would use a briggs&stratton engine and big wheels on back. the craftsman mower seemed to be the one. i need a tough mower because i can be very rough on it. i don't have easy cutting bermuda grass, but lots of crab grass and other weeds, which are more difficult to cut. this mower is so sturdy and starts on the first pull. i'm very pleased on it's perfomance. for me it's weight is perfect, maybe heavy for some, but just right for me. the weight helps with even cutting. ... show more

When I assembled the mower, the part that didn't fit, and that irked me the most, was the bag itself. Of the two pieces that allow it to rest against the mower, only one side was the right length. The other side is incorrect, causing the frame to bend inward and not catch onto the side next to the wheel. It doesn't fit, at all. Or allow it to rest against the mower to collect grass. I've been using duct tape to hold it in place, and then just removing it after each use. So incredibly annoying. ESPECIALLY for the price. And on the whole, it's an incredibly cheaply made piece of equipment. Almost everything is plastic. And already breaking or fraying. I do NOT recommend Craftsman. I used to love them. I'm going to be real with you guys. I bought this Craftsman mower through Amazon, thinking I was getting a good deal. Let me tell you straight up, it's been a total headache. The first couple of times I used it, it worked just fine, and I thought I hit the jackpot. Then, barely on the third use, it decided to throw a fit. I was yanking that cord more times than I could count, just praying to the lawn care gods it would finally start. By the fourth time, it wouldn't start at all. It completely gave up on me. Completely. I was left standing in my overgrown yard, fuming, with this useless hunk of metal and plastic. So here's the kicker: I saved a few bucks on the front end by buying this cheap Craftsman model, but now I'm out of a mower, and I've still got a jungle growing in my yard. So, word to the wise: don't cheap out on a lawn mower. Don't get lured in by the lower price tag, thinking you're getting a steal. Because guess what? You're not. It’s very easy to assemble unfortunately, it came with a ripped bag. All grass cuttings were blown out in the rip portion. How can you fix this? Are you going to send me a new bag?
