I purchased this for use around my farm because I needed to do some welding (110 volt) and do some airless spray painting that was too far for extension cords. This is a Generac generator with a Craftsman label. It starts easily, runs super quiet, and hasn't failed me yet. When not in regular use, I usually try to start it every couple of months just to ensure it starts. Always does - usually no more than three pulls. My only complaint is that oil checks and changes are buried under soundproofing and a little hard to access. Otherwise, I love it. ... show more

I have a C-Class 24' 30amp RV (2020). A couple of weeks ago, my internal CUMMIN's generator wouldn't start. I tried for several hours to get it started. I live Phoenix, AZ in the summer the temperatures get up to 117 on average. It's very dangerous to be without air conditioning, especially in a RV and worse, being stranded on the road in the middle of the desert! I finally got the RV generated started and made it home. This was a warning that I needed a backup generator. After hours of looking at reviews, the CRAFTSMAN stood out. After it arrived, I unboxed it, followed the instructions (put in the supplied oil, filled it with gas), turned the switch to choke, pulled on time, and it started and stayed running. It was so quiet I didn't think it was running compared to my CUMMIN's generator. I plugged in my power cable to the RV and it powered right up! I just can't stress enough how quiet this generator is. And its light weight, only sixty pounds, easy to lift and carry (a big plus). The other power options (110 & USB) are another big bonus. ... show more

Great generator, this is our 2nd one. The first was stolen; when it went on sale we ordered it again. Very quiet and able to run an 8,000 BTU window ac and a small floor fan. And not nearly as heavy as the regular generators. As others have mentioned, change the oil for the first time pretty early on and don’t neglect that maintenance. Bought this 5 months prior to needing it, but started using it on my OTR truck in November 2022. Regular oil and spark plug changes every month. This is August 2023, and for the past couple months it has been very erratic running. Some days great, other days not worth a crap. Some days doesn't wanna start, other days wants to run wide open throttle. Kinda hard to pinpoint any one thing with that much all over the place running. In a nutshell, I've gotten 6 good months out of it, running approximately 10 or so hours a night, 3-4 nights a week. That's garbage in my opinion. ... show more
